Sire Denathrius Should Turn Up

WoW needs a Lucifer.

We can abandon all other SL content but vamp daddy needs to be around. And the secret sauce I think is he should rarely if ever turn up as a major threat. He should be wounded gathering his strength, preying on the weak like;

Idk I just think it’d be fun if every now and then A DEVIL turned up. That’s the one thing SL got right - it gave us a Lucifer.

He and his Dreadlord bois should pop up now and again regardless of the situation. Like we’re on the tail of the Scourge or Void or Legion or what have you and then nope it’s just;

Damn sexy devils are at it again.

I think it be a really cool idea!!

Also many experiments and things he did could be tie in with the story and the Arathi Empire… we never found out exactly why they infiltrated the light or what was the end goal.

Also as mentioned by others as a “tease” (I don’t think anyone really expect or means it) if Blizz does the unexpected and reveals that Jaina is a dreadlady it would not only give closure to years of arguments over stuff that didn’t add up… but also would open up so many strands of stories, main or side quest for the future. Yes I know it will probably be hated by some… but in the end it’s just as good IMO as if Jaina confronts Xal and gets drain of her of her Titan charge powers, who knows, maybe she change outfit and has been so impulsive in her action because she afflicted with mana poisoning and it’s starting to show on her skin? (IMO)

Either way Sire D could make his great appearance there, maybe even have a new more menacing look fitting the title of “The lord of Dread”. Having felt the sting and defeat of fighting the Champions of Azeroth I think he should be written not taking any chances… specially know how they utterly defeated his brother who he supported loyally as the Chronicles stated…

However I do wonder when they were writing Sire D were they going for Dracula from Castlevania or Asmodeus from D&D… maybe both? :thinking:

Anyway whatever they decide to do with Sire D they should carefully think how to do it, specially if he is the True Mastermind behind the Dreadlord activities since they are basically the only faction in the game that truly an anti-PC enemy… IMO

At this point into the 20 year history of WoW any villain (specially if its a Cosmic entity) underestimating the Champions of Azeroth will be seen as extremely dumb, poorly written or just completely oblivious and delusional, maybe all of the above… Heck even the Champions Leaders and NPCs… specially does who actually survive the ordeal… like Jaina or Gelbin. I’m surprise no NPC talks have ever come up about that… I was certain in BFA Jaina would have some text or NPC dialog mentioning her wounds or long term effects facing and surviving Azerite empowered Champion. (IMO)

Sorry I geek out at the idea of Sire D coming back… my mind just blew up at the possibilities! Sire D, Iridikron or Chromatus are one of the few new NPCs that really get me excited of the possibility of seeing them.

I could easily see Denathrius returning to the story, it’s just a question of when.

He was last seen trapped in his sword, so we might get hints of him coming back beforehand if say the Nathrezim go about collecting artifacts to help liberate him. Alternately he could return already out, with his length of absence being explained as him needing time to get out of the sword, recover, and then formulate a new plan since Zovaal’s was a bust.

Well there should be a power vacuum in the Legion so Denathrius and the Dreadlords could snatch it up.

“19. Amidst the chaos, the forgotten one cried, “When the last star fades, the emperor’s crown will weigh heavy with the sins of a thousand years.” The stalwart soldiers threw down their spears and wept tears of blood and burning anger.” - Song of Renilash

“The golden one claims a vacant throne. The crown of light will bring only darkness.” - Il’gynoth

Denathrius is possibly the Emperor of the Arathi and seeks the throne of the Realms of Light.

That last star that will fade? Beledar which is infact the leader of the Pantheon of Light? The reason for Beledar shifting to Shadow? I suspect that Beledar is infact Remornia whom Denathrius bound to his Sword after luring her defenses away from her using Lothraxion.

Remornia in order to hide her service to Denathrius orders a retaliatory strike against the Nathrezim’s Ward turning it into the Ember Ward.

After Denathrius is imprisoned he takes advantage of the Void Entities that the Nathrezim designed to consume Sins and has Remornia stab each one so that Denathrius can harvest each one.

The final one will be Ansurek(filled with Wrath after Xal’atath gives her the broken Dark Heart) which will be followed by Denathrius hoarding the Light and abandoning Remornia while giving a mocking echo of her decree: “There can be no truck with the Shadow”.

His goal is infact to bring all of existence under the sway of the Jailer so why wouldn’t he seek to hijack the Cosmic Realm of Light!?

If the Jailer falls he can simply take the Jailer’s place at the top!

The Pantheon of Light retaliated against Revendreth due to whatever event caused them to purify Lothraxion into a being of the Light(I suspect he used Lothraxion to distract them from him binding the Light’s ruler Remornia/Beledar to his Sword putting him in control over the Pantheon of Light) yet regardless the Enemy Infiltration Preface says that the Naaru will believe anything someone converted to the Light tells them therefore Denathrius if he usurps Beledar will become the God of Light the Naaru follow blindly!

Beledar/Remornia will be abandoned and need the Sacred Flame to purify her restoring her Day and Night Cycle. The Night Cycle will of course be due to needing the Dark Heart(which has Galakrond’s Hunger) to hold the Shadow though with it broken it can’t hold it for long and thus Light and Shadow will switch places(Light in the Dark Heart and Shadow in Remornia/Beledar at Night and Shadow in the Dark Heart and Light in Remornia at Day)

Of course the Sacred Flame is Arcane Holy Light so Azshara will make a grab at that to become a 2nd member of the Pantheon of Light while offering up her own Arcane to the Dark Heart in it’s Place making it so that Dalaran’s Arcane is what starts leaking out and gets grabbed by Remornia/Beledar. Day thus changes to Arcane Purple similar looking to Night’s Void Purple except brighter.

This is my theory at least.

I’d rather we never acknowledge anyone or anything from Shadowlands ever again actually.

Sargeras is already WoW’s Lucifer. iirc Metzen even described him as “the big mega bad guy” (though he draws more from Marvel’s Surtur). He looks even more demonic then Denathrius.

Kil’jaeden and Archimonde also filled that role. Especially Kil’jaeden with the demonic manipulation and temptation.

And Sargeras is still around.

Though Denathrius is almost definitely coming back. And he’s a composite of various vampires from folklore and media, like Dracula and Lestat.

I have thought about this too, if taken into account quite a few lore pieces in Revendreath… and tie them in like you mention. Also I thought strange, even my own friends who are not that into the lore, how weak and calm even when annoyed Sire D was when he fought with us… It almost felt like a dance or performance or was just a shadow of his power (even Revendreth NPC constantly criticize him of he being a Shadow of his formerself, ironically), in SL we fought a weak version of it when creating the Crown and if paying attention in quite a few quest of subterfuge all over WoW, Shadow combine with Arcane or other magics can created life like illusion that could operate independent but tie to your will.

Maybe that Denathrius was in SL was just a Shadow… we certaining didn’t see anything that would even suggest why he would be called “The Lord of Dread”. Also Sire D literally turn into power his 7 sins… and if what we face was a Shadow made of his “Virtues” if you can call them that… would the vessel that’s left or emotions, would be SOOOOO pure, so zealous that it be a perfect to call the Light or host it? (IMO)

On a side note, I have to admit that after writing this my theory sounded a tiny bit like WoW version Kingdom Hearts: Heartless and Nobodies…

LOL wow I’m getting old… but if you ever play the game or read its lore, you know what I mean. Hmm now that I think about it there are a few interesting similarities with Sire D and the Dreadlords or how they should have access to this unique mirror magic we use in SL while using and fixing mirrors in Revendreth… nvm I wont get into that rabbit hole lol :sweat_smile:
