My single is not good, most things I read is all tuned around you 4 set which I don’t have. Are you using Dark Asension and shadow crash or Void Eruption?Are you following a rotation or just priority talent that comes up? Thanks for any
Gear and stats are fine, season 3 set is still pretty good so you’re not exactly heavily behind people because of that. Talents are wrong though, while you have the old set you still use the old builds from last season with mindbender etc.
You have some LFR logs I can take a look at if you want me to and offer some improvements based on what I can see there.
I would stay away from Shadow Crash, and C’Thun, and keep the Vamp Touch because its single target and highest dmg spell (at least it is on my charts…why no one goes for Unfurling Darkness is beyond me).
Basically, stay away from any talents/spells that say- “to all enemies withing 10 yards.” or “to all nearby enemies.” That will cause spells to latch onto other enemies nearby wherever the spell is or casted at.
Shadow is really meant for multi targets. The only spell at the end of the tree that is single target is Idol of Y’shaarj. …Other than that, I would pull enemies separately. If you can’t, I would pull enemies away from each other, at least 10 yards, or be farther from other enemies…

Well… the shadowy insight proc was only around 10% without the tier set. So with it, the proc chance is only something like 12.5%
Most people assume it’s just a flat out 25% chance for it to proc. Not sure that’s true.

For reference this is the log I’m looking at. I know it’s LFR so you probably didn’t take things 100% seriously but it’s the best I’ve got to go off.
Talents: In this log you have near enough the correct talent build for Single Target with the Season 3 set bonus, except you should have Dark Ascension over Voidform.
Opener: On a raid fight the first… 8? or so seconds are pretty much entirely planned out for Shadow, barring exceptionally lucky procs. You should also aim to have 25 or so insanity before you pull any raid boss by pressing divine star while waiting. The opener is roughly as follows. (Note this will change next week when you get your new tier set and run another set of talents).

From there it’s a simple priority of Don’t cap on insanity > Don’t cap on SWD / Mind Blast Charges > Don’t Cap on Mind Spike Charges.
Mindbender, Power Infusion, and Dark Ascension should be used off cd at regular intervals and paired up as often as possible. Mindgames and Void Torrent are more flexible, you use them as close to on cd as you can as long as they don’t interfere with the above priorities.
On to the log itself…
Your cast consistency on pull is ok ignoring how long it takes you to start after combat, it doesn’t follow the opener I listed above. The biggest issue is dead space, a lot of it, where you get a little dear in the headlights. You should always be casting, always, and start mashing the key for the next button you want to press before the gcd / cast time of the current one is over. This will ensure you have the minimum possible time between spell casts.
Shadowy insight’s proc chance isn’t a fixed percentage anymore, it always averages out to a number of procs per minute (Affected by haste) so the number of SWPs active doesn’t imapct the proc rate.

Thank you so much, when I did lfr I hadn’t done that place in so long a lot of the dead time was me running out of fire etc learning the fights again. I will change my talents back and practice. I appreciate your time to help me! Do you use shadow crash on boss fights with adds or council type fights?
