My understanding of the Single-Button Assistant key is that it cannot be bound to separate keys. Someone using the 11.1.7 PTR, could easily check this out.
I don’t know if Blizzard has addressed this potential problem. If not, here is what I plan to do to avoid problems like Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, or Trigger Finger (Stenosing Tenosynovitis) from spamming a single key for the Single-Button Assistant key.
I have a programable keypad separate from my keyboard with 19 keys: 01-19. Each key can be programmed to send a single keystroke to my computer. If keys 06 through 09 on the keypad were set to send “alt-6” to the computer, and “alt-6” was bound to the first position on Blizzard’s Action Bar 2 which also happens to contain the Single-Button Assistant, then I can place 4 fingers on keypad keys 06 through 09 and rotate four of my finger action across the 4 keys to activate the Single-Button Assistant.
Again, maybe Blizzard has addressed this potential problem, but just in case I offer the above.
You can also bind it to mouse wheel down and pretend you’re on The Price is Right
If it’s more comfortable for you, put it on two slots, bind it to mouse wheel up and down, and just move your finger any way you want, or even hold the mouse sideways and rub it like a genie bottle
The damage using it is not optimal but it will do the job for normal/heroic raid and low/mid keys. It will help people who struggle for whatever reason get into that content.
There are people doing that content now doing less damage than they will with the one button. Not because the one button is good, but because their personal damage is low for whatever reason.
Just put The Button on multiple action bar slots and bind separate keys to those?
Ya, your UI will look a little like one of those WoW memes where every slot on the action bar is filled with one spell … but it works.
Edit:
You know, we probably have enough action bar slots for the majority of keys on a typical keyboard. If bind every action bar slot to a different key and place The Button in every slot … we can literally play the game by rolling our faces across the keyboard.
Shouldn’t I watch the Jetsons cartoon since “George,” had 3 hour work days for pushing 1 button… surely they have the best knowledge on how to deal with the strain of pushing 1 button.
