Why would IRL cops have quotas? Everyone knows IRL cops suddenly become way more aggressive about trying to find traffic violations around a certain time of the month. It’s probably no different with the cops in WoW
Best off just not talking in this game or forum anymore. All it takes is a handful of triggered players and your auto suspended.
Blizzard doesn’t get paid to ban people, they aren’t cops ![]()
It all depends on how you use it. It’s not a synonym for “dumb” or “bad.” When used as a pejorative, it’s patently offensive.
I’m so confused by this sound
If the higher-ups at Blizz tell the rule enforcement people that the company is getting complaints that too many people in WoW are mean and it’s potentially driving people away from the game, what are the WoW cops (i.e., I guess the GMs) going to do other than search for more people to ban?
I know people who have been b& for surprisingly minor offenses recently
Well it might have been different if she was actually saying it to someone. She didn’t know any minorities, maybe never in her life. By the time I was old enough to realize that generation had different values than my own, they were way too old to reach. Heck I can’t even change my parents’ mind about anything and they are only just 70.
It’s not like it was an everyday thing either, there was the soap opera incident and maybe a handful of other times that word came up. In passing. I don’t think she was ever really mean to anyone in that way, just harbored antiquated ideas.
I don’t know if anyone ever tried talking to her about it, but she’s been dead seven years and now no one in my family uses that language. Which is the entire point I was trying to make.
I used to argue things with my parents (never anything as big as racism but like politics and whatnot) and it was pretty seriously fruitless, so I guess at my age I no longer have any desire to be confrontational.
I’m more interested in making sure younger generations understand things than older, arguing with elders was always a losing battle for me. People get set in their ways.
ftfy nbd 5 $ plz
IRL cops have a profit motive from fines. Those fines are used, in part, to finance the department’s operations.
What context did you use it in. If you are going around calling things “gay”, as if being gay is the worst thing one could be, then yes, it is offensive. Telling someone they are bad is demeaning. It’s why it’s flagged.
If it wasn’t in that context, then submit a ticket?
Wow has some of the biggest Karen’s in the world playing. Unhappy people tend to report things…
It’s against terms to discuss punishments (IE take it up with the appropriate parties). So don’t expect this thread to go well.
Everything is offensive!
To be honest this is why people just don’t use trade or any other kind of chat. They simply go on discord with friends.
I think any person would get upset if he or she were called racist, so I really don’t understand your logic.
It depends on your understanding of the culture, I would have to say. There is power, and words have power. If you chose to let words have power over you, rather than ideas, that’s 100% your prerogative, but for me, personally, when people bandy about words on the internet, sometimes the best thing to say is simply, “So?” Its nothing more than an attempt to tar and feather someone, but that ought to be reserved for really outrageous peoples, so I think its a shame that it’s so prevalent, don’t you? Unless you really think that most people are bad, but that’s a horrible way to live.
Republicans are so easy to scare! Just call them racist, and they lose their nerve!
Leftists are so easy to trigger! Just tell them the truth and don’t feed into their pretend nonsense, then they’ll call you a racist because they lost their nerve!
See how easy that was?
The racism thing definitely cuts both ways!
I come from the upbringing of not name calling and labeling a large group of people.
