Currently, in one build, yes. But it needs improvements both currently and to the absolute flaming mess that hero talents have shaped up to be. The current beta feedback thread has summaries of this if you want to look.
And I see your angle, but the lack of dev attention to the entire class is not excused by “casual players still find it fun though.” In fact, there’s no valid excuse.
Only two things I want for my enchancement shaman who has been demoted to nearly forgotten alt status.
- Less global cooldowns. Time to combine some abilities. Get rid of feral lunge and add an extra charge to gust of wind so it now has two charges. Also, find a way to combine frost shock and ice strike. This would reduce our keybinds by two.
…
- Shamans need a way to deal with ranged stealthers like hunters and boomkins in pvp. By the time these classes pop out of stealth and I spot them, half my health is already chunked off. My only real option is to run from them. And good luck running from a boomkin as enhancement. My solution? Increase the RADIUS of totems like grounding strike and counterstrike totem to 30 yards. The range of lightning lasso should also be increased to 30 yards so we have a counter to those classes.
Yeah, but that a seperate issue. Im not a casual player, but I enjoy playing. I even have a whole checklist post about the issues haha.
Whatever you would like to call non-competitive, which I usually just call casual. Either way, the fun factor still being there for some, like I said, does not excuse lack of development attention.
I’ve seen the uh, bright ideas in that thread. Some (few) are good, but there’s a much more concise and prioritized issue thread in the beta forums.
it’s funny, i could tell you were a pvp main before i even looked at your profile.
Okay? Going to assume you recognize the shoulders from cata elite season by that haha. Not really sure how else to respond to this.
What i’m sayin is you’re missing the point of my response entirely.
Who isn’t goal oriented when playing wow at a higher difficulty than normal?
& who doesn’t enjoy the process of getting stronger and completing more keys in m+?
but that’s not why i’m unsubbing LOL. i’m unsubbing because my favorite spec is no longer a part of that process. i’m hard capped by capability rather than ability at the level others are still going strong. so to what you initially said, i care about fun, since i play enhance right, and i also care about results. if i can’t have both i’m gone
Fair enough. In the original post I read that as “because I cant get the ratings I want its not fun”. A lot of people are like that and it limits their ability to enjoy what is in-front of them. But you’ve now made it clear that its not the only reason. I deff agree, if you require both at same time for fun then you should quit at this moment in time. As I understand it: Even if you network and make friends you will still have the same issues in higher keys of not getting the results you want despite getting invited. Enhance (as I am told) does not have the ability to perform at what is required for that content currently.
