While sitting in queue for Herod. I figured I would take the forums advice they know everything. It’s only queues on Herod they said. So I took my alt logged in to the realm select screen only to be meet with.

All added up roughly 84,495 players sitting in queue. Ok, so not those. What else we got.
Then eleven high pop realms, four medium and one low.
Ok, so real talk. To all these people saying “Just reroll” are we just going to shove roughly 84k players into those 5 realms. Then hope for the best? That’s not even factoring in leaving guilds or friends. Or any since of progress you might of made since launch. At this point I don’t even think free transfers would even help. We don’t have enough realms. Where are people going to transfer too exactly? If you don’t want to be meet with queues again. The five realms realms that aren’t full or high? Just hope they add more?

Yeah, Faerlina is a holy mess, and it won’t get better soon.
It really is a mess. What can they do? I am sure they can make all these full realms. Some stupid high realm cap of I don’t know 100k. Since they have layering still. While just adding more layers to get everyone in. In a way would that be better? Short terms yes? Long term no.

They can’t keep adding ‘more layers’ like everyone wants them to. At one point or another, the server won’t be able to handle it.

You’re probably right. Not to mention if you did try that as a band aid fix. It would just kick this cluster down the road. When layering gets removed.

I know it sucks to say or admit. I don’t know much about server capacity or what it can handle, it’s just my assumption. It’s the same reason they can’t just ‘add more layers’ or ‘increase the cap’ for realms in retail… they can only handle -so- much. Especially if they’re running on parts of the legitimate classic engine/system for these realms now.
and when did you take these numbers? are people still at work/ school? the que times could easily get far worse. like on sunday I think almost all the realms except a few were high or full
I would love to know how many people on average are playing classic worldwide. Actually playing + those waiting in queue.

As I keep saying, no matter what you do NOW, you still have to be able to squeeze down to one layer at some point in the future.
I’m sure Blizz could simply increase capacity on their servers and add layers to keep it manageable to the users, however you can’t support - at a guess - three or four times the player cap that Vanilla was at - when layering is removed.
It’s not a matter of hardware limitations, it’s a matter that only so many people fit in the world. If you have four times the Vanilla cap playing in - say - Duskwood then that means that people will be standing in line for each spider to spawn. For each undead to spawn.
far more than expected. The caps on the servers were raised “substantially” and we still have these kind of ques. its like the numbers are going up not down over time.
not to mention removing layering would be impossible.

In the end, we need that crystal ball desperately - the one that will tell us if most of the people will go away in the next few weeks, or if Classic is here to stay.
If Classic is here to stay - then yes, we need more servers.
Does that sound true? Can we know without waiting? Sadly, probably not.
we might have to deal with the 1 change. have layers permanent or ques 10-100 times longer past phase 2.
FRIENDS and guild picked Pagle day of character creation. I got to level 2 and havent got play since because the Ques are longer than the time i have to play. I rolled a Orc Shammie on another server that was only one with high not full havent got to play it since… if i wasnt playing with tokens id probably just uninstall.
This is not true. Check your facts dude. There are tons of possible solutions open, even if its a hard limit the pop of a server. LET US MOVE BETWEEN SERVERS
