How about dem mages that can dragon’s breath into ring of frost or polymorph lol.
they can do it, i dont see the problem
Why would you scatter and then trap? They share dr you are just screwing yourself. If you scatter you better root in place after or bursting shot away. You don’t freezing trap
Mages still being able to cast Blink while casting Polymorph is actually hilarious. This game is so trash. Wake me up when Classic WoTLK drops.
There were actually times in Legion/BFA where using scatter into trap was useful since it could bypass adaptation (sub 5 second CC’s so they had to eat it).
Also scatter is useful against Ele teams. You can scatter the Ele right as a healer gets stunned to stop him from grounding, or scatter Spriests to stop mass dispel etc.
The old version was indeed nice though.
That used to be the bread and butter of MM cc back in the day, became more aids with the chimpcrap blind.
Because it’s an 8 second cc chain that is almost guaranteed and is the only way to effectively land trap without a partner’s set up, insane luck or your opponent being afk in the brain.
That’s assuming you’re trying to kite, which is usually not the scenario where you’d scatter trap. Also GL using bursting shot and having it work for anything besides a slow.
I personally like that hunters have to trap off something other than scatter, binding shot , conc, or just chasing down a healer and standing on him.
Makes getting a trap at least a little difficult, which is good imo considering the CD and that it’s uninterruptable.
This isn’t the way I would buff them
dont hunters just trap off stuns like bash? or out of fears? i get scatter trap has been a staple for years but so has complaining about instant cc.
Currently yes, they do trap off stuns, fears and other set ups. The problem isn’t necessarily that they’re removing or nerfing instant CC, it’s that the class itself is completely bunk in any sense of a competitive form. It has no strengths, at all.
And yet despite the fact that the class is bunk, it’s also the only class that is “paying an instant cc tax”.
so the conversation should be tax the others, not exempt hunters too…
I mean. Isn’t that literally the premise of the thread?
I know the person who posted the thread is one of the forums literal most notorious trolls, but ye know, even a broken clock is right twice a day etc.
thats fair. i thought this was a “well if mages can do it hunters should be able to as well” thread. my b.
if the hunter is getting trained I can understand it being difficult to land a trap and needing to do it off a stun, fear, ect.
However if the hunter is not being trained then I’ve seen them just run up to healers and just sorta stand on them baiting out grounding, ect until they feel like trapping.
I think hunters are weak against high armor classes in particular.
I would want to see some kind of pvp talent (on global or not, idc as long as it’s active) that gives them armor pen. That would be a better buff imo.
And yes people complain about everything, what’s your point?
Shout out to all the Unholy DKs, DHs, Warlocks, enhance shamans, Rdruids, and MWers, maybe they just all rerolled.
big laz da god
I mean, what you say is true, generally speaking. That being said it’s more about bringing Hunter to the competitive level (imo) by either reducing other classes abilities, or buffing hunters.
It won’t fix anything about Hunter. Like 35-40% of Hunter’s current burst is already elemental.
then make explosive trap baseline?
Idk man give them a button to press, don’t ruin a skill check of a class by making scatter > trap the go to move.
Currently good hunters can land traps frequently. Bad hunters scatter into trap while my other teammate who could’ve gotten scattered is out there peeling.
We have a full set of good PvP talents we can’t even use due to 3 of them being 100% mandatory.
Armor pen would need to be part of the core spec, or you know go back to Wrath hunter where we had chimera shot as a big nature damage spender.
Hunter’s problem is that absolutely nothing they do is consistent or reliable. Traps aren’t reliable unless someone spends resources to set them up. Hunters burst isn’t reliable because it requires someone to stand in the Kyrian bubble and not see the Explosive Shot ticking down on them. Hunter can’t cover their own burst window with their own CC. Their sustained damage requires the target to not LoS a 2.5 second hard cast.
Adding more damage, or another random peel option, isn’t going to fix Hunter’s complete unreliability on anything. They require more resources to make work then Mage, and their payout is lower then Mage
Give hunters 4 pvp talents?
I don’t think anyone is going to freak out if tomorrow MWers had 4 pvp talents or if Unholy DKs had 4. I want 4 pvp talents on my rdruid.
Plus that wouldn’t interfere with pve, which is often a problem from what I understand?
