Why not extend the Collector’s bounty until the 11.2 reset on August 5th
Bec they want to farm as much play statistics as possible and pressure you into playing at the last minute.
please blizzard, think of the super casuals
It would make sense, although i dont know if there will be anything to do when 11.2 comes out besides quests for story
Oh crap never mind I forgot things making sense was against company policy
the week’s gonna be pretty boring huh…
good! i still got some HRs to find in d2.
So… isnt that a reason FOR them to extend it?
Right?
I don’t follow the logic. And why is it phrased like a bad thing - yes they want players playing. crrrazy!
It means in-game “chores” are prioritized over actual enjoyment out of the game.
It is not Blizzards fault if people are doing stuff they do not enjoy.
and extending it to august 5th would do that
I wish T.T
There is so much mog I want to farm, only had time to farm mounts. I’m definitely taking a break when the event ends, though. The extra loot drops make running things so satisfying I’m going to have a difficult time farming without it…or I should say, it doesn’t feel like it’s worth my time without it.
Kinda like how it’s not a casino’s fault that people have gambling problems even though they do everything they can to encourage them?
There is science behind MMO design and FOMO content cycles. Marketing experts are literally taught behavioural modification and exploitation. Look it up.
Again I’m not really following the logic.
If Blizzard wanted to drive up artificial playtime by making people play slots, they would extend this event, not end it a week early.
The event is ending. The “FOMO” period happens regardless.
Yeah they pretty much cater to those who hate play wow nowadays. They know enough of the playerbase plays the content for the fomo cosmetics even if they legitimately dislike the content.
We call that content not standing up on its own. Unfortunately this is also an active monetization point you see in mobile games, as it is how you drive people into p2w microtransactions or boosting to skip over the unfun chores. You squeeze people who are too sunk cost fallacied into card swiping.
Too bad this had the side effect of cannibalizing the community at-large, as designing for getting people to hate play your game causes the very toxicity they oft notice.
Because that makes sense, and that isn’t what we need right now.
I came tonight to say this exact same things. I have had more fun in WOW the last few weeks chasing mounts and Ill probably just not play till 11.2.
Extend the event Blizzard! Its been great!
It’s weird because I was doing this before the event. I just mindlessly farm old content to grind out, since I was pushed out of current content.
Obtaining the mounts/appearances doesn’t even matter to me anymore, I just vibe and grind it out nowadays. Chasing the mount FOMO doesn’t work on me, and if anything it’s inverse as I see it as a sign of weakness (too many) people have.
Yup! Which is why the very first question you have to ask when you start to play is…
Who is in charge? It is going to be either you -or- Blizzard.
Which is why I pretty much sat this event out [1]. Didn’t get the mounts when they were current. Been fine without having them since.
[1] - Ok, I ran Stonecore… I think 4 times. I picked Stonecore because I knew I didn’t have that mount. Didn’t get it.
