Mostly for pve possibly a little pvp.
I just cant decide.

Hybrids are in a really good place right now, so unless you’re super wanting to play a rogue, I’d go ret.
Rogue also doesn’t feel very good until you’re geared.
Edit: Sorry I just saw mostly PvE. I’m not sure where either of them stand in that regard.
Ret destroys pvp and is also good at pve.
Rogue has good pve specs but you must switch playstyles for pvp.
Either one will do good.
Just ask yourself if you want to be stealthing and resetting.
Or popping wings and striking fear into the heart of men.
Abuse rets until they’re nerfed tbh
rogue pve is awful. you focus on keeping modifiers up and also have to play melee dps
Well from my understanding as ret you have to go kyrian for the big numbers and i just wanna be an emo vampire
Ret seems boring to me.
Rogues all the way!

Ret without a doubt
In my unbiased opinion, I say go Sin
well i think off healing is really good but i love playing Sin.
Make em both tbh!
I’m finally getting around to levelling up my rogue
Assassination - to me - is super fun. Micro management, methodical VS the whack a mole that other classes have become.
Try both and see how you feel - I have a pally in the mid 50’s and that’s pretty fun too
Just cheat and go Ret.
Never played ret but I love sin & it performs great on single target & AOE. I don’t mythic raid but I do run M+ alot.
But yet you managed 226 ilvl must not be too bad
Ret is pretty boring in PvE but does some decent damage, I’m definitely biased but Assassination feels really good after the buffs and Venthyr as our Covenant.
Ret has good ST and Cleave/AoE but Assassination only has good ST and serviceable AoE, if you’re going to do a lot of M+ it’s best to play Outlaw but that’s not a big issue considering Assass/Outlaw have similar stats. However if you’re strictly going to play Assassination and intend to M+/Raid, Ret has the more complete package for a single spec. If you’re going to play Outlaw as well I would suggest Rogue 100%.
Im still on the fence my dudes. But im starting to lean towards sin only because it seems more fun. Tried leveling a bit and every 2-3 kills im low hp lol.
Ret definitely requires more set up and holding cds to be available together.
Only issue for me with sin is that aoe feels awful in mythics.
Cool down stacking and lining up CDs is a thing with all specs in WoW.
Assassination requires more patience though. It is not for everyone!

My determining factor to me was rogue is more mobile than paladin. But if you like tank, heal, dps in one class, paladin is a good pick.
Sin in PvP and Outlaw in M+ = Happy Rogue
