Hey people,
I have been simming my DH up using raidbots, and been making steady progress there(simulated DPS), yet my in game throughput does not even come close to the numbers I should be seeing. My char is simmed at just shy of 25k DPS at an ilvl of 406, yet when I practice my rotation on the raider’s target dummy, my DPS meter only shows me averaging around 16k sustained(without) cooldowns. Now I don’t think that if I used meta, I would gain another 9k DPS. So what am I missing here? Raidbots shows haste as my lowest priority stat, yet I can’t help but feel like I was doing more DPS when I was under the assumption that having a lot of haste was good. Only sitting at 17% now in favor of stacking versatility, which shows as my most important stat.
Please help me get to the bottom of this!
There are other factors that raidbots uses when simming (assuming patchwerk) like pre-pots, lust, and other buffs/debuffs like flasks/food. Plus sim results are always in a perfect state, which will never be the case. That’s my best guess as to the discrepancy, But yes, not using meta also would bring it down a good portion (how much exact idk), since its such a huge burst of damage, as well as any other cds your not using like trinkets.
so fundamentally I’m not gearing wrong? Raidbots is telling me the proper stat weights with haste being so low?
Yeah it should be giving you the proper stat weights based on your gear. Im guessing your haste is below crit/vers and above mastery? At least thats how my stats go but thats with completely different gear obviously, but isn’t too far off the general mark in terms of priority.
Haste is all the way at the bottom, even below mastery, with vers, crit and agility being before mastery. It’s odd IMO, but I guess the bot knows best?
Mastery got a little bump in 8.2 and also once you hit a certain amount of haste it begins to devalue. So all should be good.
Furious gaze and your haste trinket also likely skew the value of haste quite dramatically as they likely should.
That said, as many have pointed out, sim takes everything into account, including the proc on your bracers. Also not using meta would be huge as it sim’s over a 5 minute fight allowing two full meta’s, which you can optimize with a pre-pot and a normal battle pot.
