While it’s seeming more and more like the return of the tower is going to reward recolours of T20, they could also make the timewalking MT reward a toy. That toy will allow you to have a temporary buff with one tint of the tower for your current spec, on a cooldown. Something like 15 min duration on a 60 min cooldown.
That way, those of us that actually put in the hard time (EDIT: During Legion when the content was current) and work for ours, can still feel like our efforts weren’t diminished. A good chunk of us stayed subbed during a content drought to obtain them, which helped keep the game afloat. To cave to the forum complainers, would be to spit in our faces for helping keep the game alive then.
Oh I know, but they are adding some kind of TW version of it and it’s definitely happening. There’s a lot of speculation on what it’s going to reward. You know how they’ve been panicking lately trying to cater to the forum babies, it would be a shame if they caved on this. However, if they do cave, they can go the route I described in my post. I got most of the appearances unlocked during legion and don’t want my effort diminished.
MT is one of those things were there are about an even number of people on both sides. It’s not like covenants where 99% are one side and Yesuna and Clark are on the other. Or conduit energy. I don’t think even Clark liked or defended conduit energy.
They won’t stab their loyalists in the back. Have a little trust. I expect the recolors are probably the reward, like a lot of folks are speculating. With any luck, they’d make it seasonal and give a new set of rewards every season. Like, I’d love to get the night hold armor. I know it’s sociable in 9.1.5, but I wouldn’t mind a tarted up version either.
Blizzard is selling me gold after spending years banning people for such a practice. If they can figure out a way to make money, or think it’ll keep folks playing longer, they’ll do it I bet. They change stances all the time on stuff.
“Don’t want my effort diminished” do you really think they’re just gonna hand it out for free? If Blizzard plays it well, they would make the tower just as difficult now as it was in the past and then no one should have a problem with the appearances coming back, yes? Ideally, to keep with the limited time aspect, they should make it like Warglaives and have it only be available during Legion timewalking weeks and make it crazy difficult like it was back in the day. I don’t think telling Blizzard to not do this because you want to have something no one else has purely because you played the game at a time when they didn’t and not a game completion goal.
It has value because it’s scarce. You know how you can tell it has value? Because we’re having this conversation. If it didn’t have value, no one would care.
The analogy is incredibly off since blizzard would be the one willingly adding it back into the game.
At the same time you aren’t personally affected if it is added in a serious way though. You might feel a little griped that’s a bit all, calling it “immoral” is a bit of a stretch lol.
People are responsible for themselves - they knew the MT achievement was going away with the BFA prepatch - there were several warnings about it, that people didn’t get that achievement (and the skin it unlocked) at that time is, at the end of the day, their problem.
I agree with others, the value of those particular pixels is the fact that is rare and now unobtainable. I don’t think that longstanding principle of time-sensitive rewards needs to be abrogated to serve the interests of a small number of people who are wailing and gnashing their teeth.
Also, changing the rewards every time it comes around would be horrible. I don’t want to feel insane pressure to get everything done in one week because it’s vanishing forever after. We need more evergreen content, not more FOMO.
No, it has value because they are some of the best weapon skins in the game. Or rather, they were. People want the appearances. They don’t care that they’re scarce.
Hard disagree. Their value comes from their awesome appearances. It has nothing to do with how rare they are. I wouldn’t care if literally every single player had them. They would still be just as attractive to me.
That doesn’t mean that half the players want the MT to return while half don’t. Every time a thread about this comes up, there are people who post who already have MT skins but support them returning.
Fine, we can agree to disagree. I think they are awesome looking. I also don’t think they should be handed out as door prizes today when we were advised it was time sensitive.
