Simple RDruid Changes That Would Help (A Little) in PvP

In short, button bloat is a huge issue for RDruid in PvP, especially with Ancient of Lore’s Blossom Burst and Mass Blooming not replacing Regrowth and Wild Growth respectively.

Some things I think would greatly help the spec in PvP are as follows (these won’t solve RDruids issues but are a step in the right direction):

  1. When talented into Germination, applying Rejuvenation applies both copies of the ability. This would also impact PvE, but I don’t think to a high degree, and would save a little on button spam. It would also allow Soul of the Forest to buff both spells!
  2. When talented into Germination, Overgrowth applies both copies of Rejuvenation. Again, less button spamming.
  3. Overgrowth should have a 30sec CD. This would allow RDruid to have the ability to respond to target swaps faster, something it has very little capability of as it is.
  4. Innervate… sucks. Redesign it from the ground up. Because of the double Rejuvenation spam needed per the above, it’s hard to maximize the optimal time to use this ability. Of course you want to use it in a Regrowth spam period, but it’s not easy to time at all (at least in Blitz/RBGs).
  5. Ancient of Lore should be instant. It replaces Tree of Life, which is instant, so rather than having to spend a Nature’s Swiftness charge to make it instant just have it baseline with no cast time.
  6. When talented into Ancient of Lore, have it benefit Wrath like Tree of Life. We cannot shapeshift in and out of this “form” so at least allow it to also buff all our damage like Tree of Life so if we top our team off we have something to do.

I’m not saying the above changes would fix RDruid in PvP but it would certainly help, and I don’t think anything would be game-breaking for PvE that I touched on. I’m also not saying all of these things need to happen, but particularly the Overgrowth + Germination situations would be helpful: much less spamming HoTs before we can maximize Regrowth.

I’m open to other suggestions and feedback, as I’d like to know what other think RDruids need to have to be competitive again. I remember when we were the slipperiest healers in game… long gone are those days!

I think it’s pretty funny that it isn’t

I wonder why they decided to -not- make it instant. It’s like having to cast Avenging Wrath as a Holy Paladin

Rdruid wouldn’t be in such a rough spot if we got some proper BG PvP talents to deal with AOE/burst. They’re good in arena when you know who to hot, but in BG’s it takes a ton of Globals to do what every other healer does in 1/4 the globals.

Full bloom is OK, but half the time it just doesn’t work and it’s not on demand, you have to prep for it. Wild growth does basically no healing, it’s awful and a mana sink.

I honestly don’t know what the fix is to give rdruid a boost in BGs that won’t break them in arena, but proper AOE that isn’t tied to a goofy tree is where I would start

All pretty agreeable ideas.

Biggest thing with Rdruid design currently is that it is too heavily reliant on mastery. It’s one of the weakest healers right now - but in a season or two when we get more mastery on our gear it reaches a point where it’s just a massive wall of healing when hots are stacked up on one person.

It’s also why rdruid feels so global heavy and individual hots are so bad. You need all your hots stacked up for mastery to kick in to do your max healing. So you spend all game refreshing your billion hots over and over to keep your mastery rolling, leaving little globals for doing much else.

And like the above guy said rdruid is weak in bgs - it’s because you can’t just throw rejuvs /wild growths up on the whole group anymore and top healing. The individual hots themselves don’t do much at all. Rdruid went from a hot-based aoe healer to much more small group focused single target healer with hots just being there to pad/stack mastery. Likely a M+ change like usual.

I think dialing back mastery and buffing haste for Rdruids (at least in pvp) would be a nice start.
