In short, button bloat is a huge issue for RDruid in PvP, especially with Ancient of Lore’s Blossom Burst and Mass Blooming not replacing Regrowth and Wild Growth respectively.
Some things I think would greatly help the spec in PvP are as follows (these won’t solve RDruids issues but are a step in the right direction):
- When talented into Germination, applying Rejuvenation applies both copies of the ability. This would also impact PvE, but I don’t think to a high degree, and would save a little on button spam. It would also allow Soul of the Forest to buff both spells!
- When talented into Germination, Overgrowth applies both copies of Rejuvenation. Again, less button spamming.
- Overgrowth should have a 30sec CD. This would allow RDruid to have the ability to respond to target swaps faster, something it has very little capability of as it is.
- Innervate… sucks. Redesign it from the ground up. Because of the double Rejuvenation spam needed per the above, it’s hard to maximize the optimal time to use this ability. Of course you want to use it in a Regrowth spam period, but it’s not easy to time at all (at least in Blitz/RBGs).
- Ancient of Lore should be instant. It replaces Tree of Life, which is instant, so rather than having to spend a Nature’s Swiftness charge to make it instant just have it baseline with no cast time.
- When talented into Ancient of Lore, have it benefit Wrath like Tree of Life. We cannot shapeshift in and out of this “form” so at least allow it to also buff all our damage like Tree of Life so if we top our team off we have something to do.
I’m not saying the above changes would fix RDruid in PvP but it would certainly help, and I don’t think anything would be game-breaking for PvE that I touched on. I’m also not saying all of these things need to happen, but particularly the Overgrowth + Germination situations would be helpful: much less spamming HoTs before we can maximize Regrowth.
I’m open to other suggestions and feedback, as I’d like to know what other think RDruids need to have to be competitive again. I remember when we were the slipperiest healers in game… long gone are those days!
