I spend a lot of time on the AH and one thing that I’ve noticed happens constantly and consistently is the scam auctions that get posted.
I think it would be fantastic if Blizzard would add a simple confirmation prompt when posting auctions ONLY IF you’re posting at a price much lower than current market. It indicates a flaw in the UX of AH with just the fact that it’s possible for people to setup those scams and that it’s very easy for people to fall for them.
Please don’t come in here with the “Pay attention when posting” argument, it’s a stupid argument. I see people fall for it all day even while I’m actively trying to buy those scam posts immediately. Obviously if everyone payed more attention it wouldn’t be a problem, but that’s not what happens. Sometimes mistakes happen.
A simple confirmation prompt in those situations would greatly reduce the chance of someone falling for these scams.

Was wondering the same thing and how many I’ve purchased…

Say the current value of a Lightless Silk is 100g.
When you go to post your stack of 200 Lightless Silk, the AH defaults your price to the lowest price currently on the AH.
People will post 1 Lightless Silk for 1g, in hopes that you come by and post your stack and not notice that the price is now 1g each. So you accidently sell your 200 Lightless Silk for 1g per, which they buy immediately and sell for 100g each.
There’s no confirmation on you posting the auction, so if you weren’t closely paying attention (say if you just wanted to offload all the crap you got from questing) you just got scammed out of the real value of your items.

Like the Perron I got the put widowbloom on the AH for 50 silver a unit instead of market value because I posted 1 at 51 silver and they didn’t check
Thats not a scam. You need to actually pay attention to the screen.

If the intent is there, it objectively is a scam. Please read my OP about that argument.

Telling someone to look at what they’re doing is not a dumb argument.

It is a bad argument because the new AH UX is streamlined for people to easily and quickly post auctions. It’s possible for people to make mistakes, and a simple prompt does literally nothing but help those who are about to make a mistake.
I don’t understand why people can’t understand such a simple request. It literally doesn’t affect anyone negatively.

Neither does paying attention.

You literally are defeating your own points.
People make mistakes. Thats what it is, you mistakenly posted low.
Adding in a prompt to help you from mistakes is insane, when all you need to do is look.
not even look hard, just eyes on screen

Insane!?
It’s just a small little prompt “Hey you’re posting this super low, are you sure?”
In what world could you possibly justify that small addition as insane?

What, exactly, is “stupid” about expecting people to be held accountable for their own actions?

In this world.
What’s next, a prompt asking if you’re sure you wanna click on the portal?

Wow! I was wondering earlier what in the heckin was going on with the DeathBloom I was buying. I sat there and hit reset on the AH and noticed that someone listed a ton of it for 4 gold and it was gone before I could buy it and then it was all relisted for 18…

Because another player intentionally setup that trap for them to fall into. The AH isn’t some PvP arena you enter into and have to wildly outsmart everyone. If you want to simply post stuff it shouldn’t be a minefield.

Meh, I guess they could but honestly one should take the Initiative And look at the price they’re posting at before they post it… Not a scam really…

Actually someone kept listing ONE deathbloom on repeat for 1 gold and I would sit there and buy it, did it a few times.

I seriously hope you have the mental wherewithal to understand that’s not even close to comparable.
