I have been super casual for the past few years, pretty much since MOP. I want to get back into raiding and have a question. Should my dps on a target dummy be close to a sim dps on raidbots? My sim dps is about 2.9 k but I’m only pulling about 2.1 k on a dummy. Do I need to work on rotation?
Check your sim settings. Some sims assume a raid setting where you will be using “ideal” food/oil/potions/flasks, have Hero/Lust, have Arcane Intellect/Battle Shout and other damage amplifiers like Monk and DH brands. All of these things inflate your DPS on a sim and cant be reasonably accounted for on a target dummy.
As always, your best measure of success is a DPS meter from the actual raid itself.
