Sim Bait Traits

I’ve seen this discussed a little here and much more when you go to skyhold, but what are some sim baits for people who wont brave the, as I’ve seen it called, pedo furry supremacists of discord? :stuck_out_tongue:

To my knowledge infinite fury and undulating tides qualify, I’ve heard 1 person in skyhold mention pulverizing blows is as well.

Undulating Tides due to often dropping below the 50% mark in raids/M+

IF due to not being able to keep high uptime in some raid encounters/most m+

PB isn’t sim bait, but it certainly loses a ton of value with CsHbx2 or x3, due to BT having a higher priority at all times than RB.

Worldvein can be, as before r3, movement or just rng can screw you pretty hard, and by the time you hit r3 other r3 minors crush it. Additionally, even at r3 some boss fights/M+ just don’t work well with it.

Many neutral damage proc traits aren’t sim baits per se, but it should be kept in mind that they are often only single target, and do not gain additional effect from hitting additional targets, such as cleave/AoE. (Battlefield Focus, Dagger in the Back, Rezan’s Fury, Thunderous Blast, Filthy Transfusion, Tidal surge, etc)

Treacherous Covenant, though less relevant now, could have very low value on some fights similar, but less extreme, than Undulating Tides.

Any trait that required you to stand still, stand in it, or collect something that procs/spawns

Azerite Globules often can be very rng, and the only place they are “supposed” to do well in, AoE/cleave, is often where it’s weakest. When hitting multiple targets, they can proc on any target, which means your first three procs might be on all different targets, or that a target could die before hitting 3 stacks and blowing up in the pack.

IF definitely gives me OCD for staying on top of attacking something and it kind of sucks in that regard. I would drop it if I could, but I think due to UF it makes it a lot more maneagable despite UF being RNG. And if you do run AM it also helps smooth over its uptime. If we didn’t have UF and/or AM at our disposal it’d definitely be a garbage trait.

UF certainly can save it at times, but I’d never take that into account myself (too extremely RNG, to be a valid point in comparing traits) and AM+Lucid certainly help it’s case. Some fights, it’s totally feasible, even straight up good.

But. Mekka.
