Silverwing Sentinels still exist?

Hi,
So, Silverwing Sentinels, was a group of warriors who were fighting against Warsong clan at the Ashenvale borders. In Cata, Garrosh with the Horde have eliminated that organization. After Garrosh have lost the war, Ashenvale borders have been abandoned. So basically since Cata till BFA Warsong gulch was not actual.

During the War of the Thorns, on Alliance side, there were some Night Elves, that were geared in Silverwing Sentinels gear. Like Captain Alennah Starsong or Myara Sunsong.
Also from Exploring Kalimdor - Splintertree Post and the Warsong Lumber Camp are still being attacked by the Night Elves.

So, my question, does Silverwing Sentinels organization still exist, and was restored? Does Warsong gulch is actual again? Have I missed something?

No he did not! He destroyed one base at best!

Again no it was not. In fact the Alliance took Morshan Rampart.

He destroyed the refuge which was their central holding. Presumably though not shown in game he probably had the camp by Warsong Gulch elimnated as well.

Story wise the Sentinels are history. The clinching argument is their total lack of presence during the War of Thorns.

  1. that is not the main base camp. Silverwing grove would be.
  1. even in the Fourth War it was being contested

3)Also considering the Alliance took Morshan Rampart if anything it is the Horde who were kicked out of the Gulch.

Since that mission keeps coming up I have to assume that they don’t hold it for long.

And the Alliance still ends the Fourth War with the Rampart. So again, if anything the Alliance has managed to take back most if not all thier old holdings in Ashenvale.

Could they have been folded into the regular Night Elf army? If so, they would have been elsewhere at the time.

They most likely were after the devastating losses they suffered in Cata. Most likely didn’t have the numbers to maintain their own military branch

There will be 1,000,000 of them the instant Blizzard wants there to be 1,000,000 of them, regardless of all previous lore or logic. I hang around the Lore Forum for the company, rather than to have much meaningful discussion over something the game’s own creators actively seem to ignore/dismiss/ruin.

They are still around. There is mention of them in BFA contesting Ashenvale. All things considered, Garrosh’s attack on Ashenvale was a colossal failure. He made the same mistake Napoleon and Hitler made in Russia. Blitzing deep into a wide territory, getting bogged down by terrain, and suffering losses to great to sustain an offensive. Only reason War of Thorns was successful for the Horde is because they didn’t hold any of the territory they conquered. They B-lined to the shore, and resupplied themselves via ships at Darkshore.

It is always an interesting day when I have to agree with Akiyass.

Like a lot of factions that were more prominent earlier in the game, the answer tends to be “yesn’t” when it comes to their status. While they took a pretty vicious hit in Cataclysm (much like literally every night elf group at the time), they were shown to have a fallback near where the old WSG portal is. Conceivably they were able to rebuild somewhat when the Horde left Ashenvale as part of a treaty for like, two years, and then might have been swept aside again when Sylvanas failed her Horticulture final and wanted revenge.

In the same vein, the status of the Warsong is up in the air as well, and the Defilers. The former because they’ve been trying to fight a leafy meatgrinder for a decade and the latter because Arathi’s been reclaimed (in lore) by the Alliance. The Stormpike also are tenuously active or still in existence because their whole point was to look for artifacts and such in the valley, but pretty much all the answers regarding the Titans are present, they don’t need to be there now.

Chalk it up to ‘maybe’ because Blizzard is terrified of reusing old and familiar characters and factions.

Not terrified enough, if you ask me. Every old and familiar thing they’ve used in the last couple of expansions has been completely trashed.

Unless it is actually said he wiped them out, yes, they still exist.

I’m pretty sure I remember a line in Wolfheart about the Silverwings holding out despite being surrounded, and the Horde just going around them.

But I refuse to read Wolfheart again without good reason.

Or a gun to my head.

But I repeat myself.

I would assume they still exist.

Fourth War ends with the night elves taking back near all of Ashenvale and refusing to sign the armistice, so hostilities between the Sentinels and the Horde loggers are ongoing. Given WSG seems to lead into the Barrens, I suspect hostilities have only ended there if the Warsong have lost interest in logging, which I doubt.

Interestingly with the night elves in control of the Rampart as well as the bridge into Azshara, the Horde don’t seem to have a land route into Ashenvale anymore.

Last time I checked, the Rampart was still manned by Horde. Which even has a flight point there now.

In Exploring Kalimdor the night elves took control of it, and also rebuilt Talrendis/control the bridge into Azshara.

Which is not the Moorshan Ramparts which are the northern entry to the Barrens, but otherwise you are correct.

?

The book has the night elves in control of the Mor’Shan Rampart, lol.
