With the release of Midnight. We of the horde will learn that the city has been taken over by the Alliance. This is a huge upset and throws the whole Horde vs. Alliance arch out the window. Silvermoon should be only Horde accessible. where Alliance would be kill on site in any part of the city.
Now i understand Silvermoon is the main plot area for this exp. but having Alliance players in a horde city and nothing of the sorts the other way around is just wrong on so many levels. to make it more suitable an idea, have out side the city gates a small hovel where alliance can “lurk” at their quest hub in that zone.
It has become widely known that surrendering 2/3rds of Silvermoon city is a not welcomed design choice. All of the Sin’dorei would like you to rethink this approach.
Silvermoon has been Horde longer than its been Alliance.
The Alliance of Lordaeron was only made during the Second War and the Elves of Quel’Thalas barely participated only joining fairly late into the conflict in full. Immediately after they withdrew from it entirely. Then Garithos tried to murder Kael’thas, and shortly after the Alliance of Lordaeron disolved. The Blood Elves joined the Horde in TBC and have been with them for longer canonically in years than they were with the Alliance of Lordaeron. Not only that they’ve been in full support of the Horde far more than they ever were in full support of the Alliance.
[Edited when Henceforth pointed out I was slightly wrong.]
Which was not the Alliance. So they have no been Alliance. That Long.
They also didn’t actually have a traditional alliance with humanity. They had an oath to defend the Arathor bloodline should they call upon them. One they didn’t even really want to support when the Alliance was actually formed.
I’m just disappointed the alliance couldn’t claim Windrunner Village and the Windrunner Spire is… ghosts. https://media.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2025/august/WoWMidnightGamescomRevealWindrunnerSpire033.jpg
Quel’Thalas has been part of the Horde for more than 15 years, after they joined us during the Burning Crusade.
Quel’Thalas was a reluctant member of the Alliance, only during the Second War, for roughly 2–3 years. After that, they pulled away and never truly rejoined — later becoming the blood elves and siding at different times with Illidan, Kael’thas, and eventually the Horde.
Technically they never truly ended their association within that Alliance of Lordaeron though until it dissolved so there was some additional years. They were just not happy about it and barely putting anything into the Alliance. It wasn’t formally dissolved on their end though.
That said I believe years wise even adding that in they’ve still been Horde longer and with far greater support of the Horde.
