I’m trying to find where I can collect a lot of silver ore. I’ve come across a couple of veins, but they’re nowhere near as plentiful in Feralas, Desolace, or Hillsbrad Foothills as Wowhead says they are. Where can I go to find these ores?
They are a rare spawn of tin ore nodes. Anywhere you find tin, you may find silver. You can increase your chances by farming all the tin so they respawn, possibly as silver.
Gold is a rare spawn of iron ore nodes.
Like Nok said, they’re a rare spawn in tin nodes. What exactly do you need it for? If you’re trying to level up a profession there are always alternate recipes to use and if you need them for something specific you can always use the AH.
If you’re trying to collect silver to sell… I’d say don’t, there is no magic spot to farm it.
Maganar:
I usually have an easier time finding them in Northern Stranglethorn. As Nok said though, they are a rare spawn of tin.
What part of Northern Stranglethorn? I searched all over (even got the achievement) and found only 5 nodes.

I’m not looking to sell the ore itself; I’m just looking to make Silvered Bronze Breastplates and Leggings to sell in the AH. I was wanting to make those because my calculations said they were the top thing to make at my BS level as far as profit goes if I were to sell to vendors.
Daketh:
The caves in lakeshire where the gnolls are is heavy in tin, copper and often silver nodes
Yeah, but that’s Alliance territory from what I can tell. I’m Horde.
There aren’t 5 nodes. There are dozens of potential silver nodes, although most times they will be tin.
Silver is not a guaranteed mining vein. They spawn replacing a tin deposit randomly (and at low odds). It’s not farmable unless you’re farming tin. (And if you just mine the silver you see and no one is mining any of the other nodes, the ones you mine will probably respawn as tin.)
Warmode off and stay away from Alliance NPCs and all those nodes are yours for the taking.
Bear in mind that you are probably not the only one mining at any given time.
Once you tap a node, it will disappear for you but remain visible and usable by up to four other people for about a minute before it totally disappears. Either it, or one nearby will respawn several minutes later.
If you see a node disappear as you approach it, it’s usually a sign that someone is mining ahead of you.
