Given the fact that blood elves and high elves are the same race, I think Somand is right. Their opposition to the blood elves only makes sense if itâs drawn from the fact that theyâre opposed to the Horde.

Indeed. I think it would be better to draw that through a new race then to make HE available these days anyways. Half elves suits the bill.

According to a dev interview Ion gave several months ago, Blood Elves were originally unintended to have blue eyes in Shadowlands, but later on that decision was reversed following team discussions. If the art department was involved, what was the reasoning that led to blue eyes being added for Void Elves and Blood Elves?
This is another place where there was a race, High Elves, in the game which hadnât really been represented on player characters. Blood Elves were the closest, but had felt green eyes. It was an opportunity where we had a number of elven races, and we could tie it back to their roots, letting players choose where they want to align and what fantasy to play out. We did have a lot of discussion about it, ultimately we might do more in the future, but for now weâre providing the option to have a few High Elf customizations available.

which is not true. Because void elves cant look like high elves, only blood elves can look alike high elves.
And community still longing for playable Silver Covenant high elves despite what has been offered by Blizzard.

At this point, I just want chaos, so no, Iâm not telling anybody anything outside the hard truth. And thatâs that these threads will never stop until theyâre playable, and theyâll likely continue to wrack up and itâs Blizzardâs fault entirely.
High elves are the equivalent of the hobbits that didnât leave the village in lord of the rings, the people are being repressed, so the blood elves set out to break away from the human alliance and look for a way to satiate their hunger and make great and powerful friends and alliances along the way. Or, we can have a race of people who chose to continue being doormats and letting life happen to them, like the hobbits back in the shire enjoying their afternoon tea and elevenses. And along side the million of variations of elves we have, and you can now tailor either elf to reflect looking like them. It seems rather pointless to add them when there are so many more requested races ahead of them that are far more interesting.
