High Elves are an Alliance Race, always have been. The Blood Elves are a Political faction in the High Elf race, the Majority faction but still just a faction. Also Void Elves are High Elves in the Alliance. Personally, I don’t think we need another Elf race.
What I want to see more is the end of the Faction divide. And the opening the game so we can play together easier.
Actually there is, the most important one. We don’t need another Elf race in WOW, there are too many already. We do need more options for the elf races we have. Void elves need pale skin options, Night Elves need Paladins. No need for Silver Covenant (Not the only group of basic High Elves in the Alliance, just the most well known.)
Eventually the Faction wall will drop and than we can play Blood Elves in Alliance groupings and than they should give the Blue Eye option to them. But no sooner.
Your desire for another High Elf race hurts WOW at this point, especially since the list of good player races that Blizzard should consider is probably getting overlooked because everyone focuses on the wrong races.
what do you mean wrong race?
you know what hurts WoW? people like me not playing anymore. and if you look at my character you might notice i haven’t bough BFA yet. and wouldn’t come back for shadowlands if they keep pulling factions like voidelves out of their butt instead of giving us the most asked for faction of them all; silver covenant.
also if the problem is too many elf races, i’m sure more people will be happy if we turned all the void elves into silver covenant high elves. trust me noone except some edgelords prefer void elves over high elves.
Popping in to inform people that blood elves are high elves, and that the alliance will not be getting a carbon copy of a Horde race. And now I’m muting the thread. You all have fun.
void elves are also high elves. which are alliance. i’m not asking for high elves. pretty much the reason i started a seperate topic. i want silver covenant. void elves are unique and not a carbon copy, so lets make high elves short eared and hairy because they mix with humans.
What’s with the “blue eye/pale skin” obsession that so many requests? Void elves has blue eyes and pale skin and still are elves nevertheless lol
This crusade has gone so far over the years and still persists on. Yes at one point they were in the alliance and some drastic historical change caused them to switch sides, so honestly it’s WoW’s lore like it or hate it but give respect to it.
Least I want it’s a giant influx of over populated races like FFXIV we’re cat race people greatly outnumber both humans and elves 6 to 1. The horde is likely having that same scenario with both blood elves and Vulpera.
What’s with the “blue eye/pale skin” obsession that so many requests?
it’s… relateable. lol
it’s not the looks tbh. void elves have purple eyes but i still woudn’t play one even if they looked exactly like silver covenant elves. it’s the lore for me: they stayed with their allies while blood elves changed faction and that’s why i don’t like them. void elves changed faction twice so i like them even less.
the blue glow of the eye is a sign of arcane affinity, unlike fel addicted blood elves with green eyes.
i’d play a silver covenant elf, even if they had their eyes closed all the time, because they’re not fel or void corrupted.
No. The Alliance can have Silver Covenant High Elves. When Blizzard gets over themselves and players like you and gets out of its own way, it’ll happen.
WoW has basically been a dubiously canonical fanfic since TBC because the Alliance’s elves were given to the Horde. All adding Silver Covenant would do is get this franchise back on track to greatness.
i’ll say it again, this isn’t a high elf thread. us high elf fans have been spat on too many times, and were given multiple (unreasonable) reasons why we can’t have high elves, yet we were given void elves.
blood elves are high elves and we can’t have a horde race? ok great. i’m just asking for yet another elven faction like void elves, which is silver covenant. if we can have one, why not the other?
I would agree aspects of the lore since the end of Vanilla have had their low points that I think in part were made based on decisions regarding in-game mechanics rather than story.
There have been high points though.
Adding the Silver Covenant in Wrath and building them up since has been a nice nod, but with the advent of Allied Races being added…yeah, it’s about time that nice nod and gesture have been made into something more concrete and playable.
Something with in-game mechanics as it were.
Alliance playable Silver Covenant High Elves would scratch that itch. Bonus Points: It wouldn’t be at lore expense.
I’m sorry but you just can’t make an argument about the legitimacy of canon because you don’t like it. “Dubiously Canonical” It’s the literal game canon. You just simply don’t like it.
Blood elves may be high elves, but the silver covenant are not blood elves. Void elves are blood elves. If your brain can’t comprehend this nuance, you probably should go study WoW lore to gain an understanding.
You better get used to. Elf threads is now the status quo of the forums… You better accept to live amongst a tsunami of elf threads or be suffering from eternity.
yeah i mean i don’t like elf threads as much as the next guy but a lot of people want alliance high borne so badly that they keep posting them. probably the most asked for thing in wow history that we still haven’t gotten.
Beware the salt miners who intentionally leave out the political nuance that separates these groups as PEOPLE despite their shared / identical genetic heritage.
Yep. It got louder with the announcement of allied races towards the end of Legion. Because that was the first time in a while where there were going to be multiple races added. Granted, most were variations on established races, but they’re still new since they’re playable now.
It’s kept up because since BFA has gone on…we’ve gotten yet more allied races.
Yet the most asked for one? High Elves on the Alliance? Still not granted.
