I’ve just tried twice to take a flight point from Tanaris to Silithus (it’s phased for pre-sword stab), and every time I try, the flight path drags me through buildings at Southwind Village, crashes the game, and forces me to use the Stuck Character Tool or submit a stuck character ticket. After looking at the flight point map, I realized the problem: The flight point that the Scouting Map toy for Kalimdor unlocked is set for Southwind Village, and not Cenarion Hold. I tried flying manually to Cenarion Hold, and got there okay, but talking to the flight master there gives the “no connected flight points” error message, so at this point, the only way in or out of pre-sword-stab Silithus without crashing the game & getting a character stuck is to fly or ride manually with a character mount.
Sorry, had the wrong character selected; meant for it to be this one. Just to be clear: This is happening with Retail, not Classic!
Had the same issue today. I’m working on leveling up a character and have been going around to the Lunar New Year elders, and have used the Scouting Map toy to unlock the flight points on that character in Kalimdor. I tried to fly from Feralas to Cenarion Hold, but there there wasn’t a flight point for it, just for Southwind Village, so I picked that one. Ended up flying under the ground at Cenarion Hold and then got dropped through the ground when I landed at Southwind Village and had to use the Stuck Characater service to move them. Seems like this might be an issue with the new scouting map toy.
Edit: Adding a few extra details that I couldn’t fit in my bug report through my character. I tried to replicate this on other characters and ended up with the same issue on another character who I’m leveling through Legion Chromie Time, like the one I just had the issue with. Again used the Horde version of the Kalimdor scouting map toy, there were no flight points showing up in Silithus, so I flew to Un’Goro Crater, then mounted up and flew to Cenarion Hold. Tried using the Horde flight master there and also got the “no connected flight points” error message, same as with my first character.
However, I also tried using this on Horde characters who are leveling through BfA or who are already in Shadowlands, and there were no problems. I was able to use the scouting map toy, and the Cenarion Hold flight location DID show up, so it seems like there might also be an issue with Chromie Time.
This happened to my level 32 last week. Another day she went back and was able to get the flight point. She has never been to BfA. I think it might have something to do with the way the time phases are not persistent in some of these multiphased old zones.
Agreed, likely the problem relates to the fact that each of the zones that were made into combat zones (Darkshore, Silithus, Blasted Lands, etc.) have to be set to ‘old world’ via Ziadormi https://www.wowhead.com/npc=88206/zidormi
in order to fly into. Especially if you’re trying to reach the Elders, because they only show in the ‘old world’ time. I wish it had a check box for that instead, just for the ability to fly into or out of said zones.
Hi, this is the original author of this thread…I just tested it, and I can confirm that the issue relates to Chromie Time. Even if you have Chromie Time active to scale the world prior to the sword stab, I think the system still acts as if the sword is there, thus eliminating the flight point links. As long as you talk to Zidormi near the northeast part of the zone & ask her to show you Silithus of the past, the flight points will work normally.
