So, recently. I had some choice words for one of my group members in Classic WoW BRD runs - when the next day, I woke up to a 2 Month silence put on my account. What I said to this very nice individual was bannable, or whatever - but the idea of completely restricting someone from using their chat in a game where communication is required to progress is pretty insane. I’ve been sitting at 55 now for 3 days, because my want to play has decreased due to this INSANE restriction. I personally believe the restrictions for Classic WoW should have some parts of this lifted, allowing anyone who does get silenced to play the game instead of wasting their sub.
That’s a fairly substantial ban, was it your first? I guess they figured the punishment was warranted. You can still play - you can quest, farm gold and mats, even do pvp - you just can’t do what got you the ban (ie communicate with others).
It’s harsh, but it would certainly teach me to be more circumspect with how I interact with others.
Sort of a pity it doesn’t work on the internet generally - there are some people who could do with it…
There’s definitely a lot more here to this story than the OP is revealing. I have never heard of a two month chat ban ever before in WoW. Generally if someone harasses another player they get an account ban, at least as far as I recall. Also, admitting you said stuff that was bannable but coming to the forums for sympathy? Yeah, ok. What really happened, op? I’m curious.
I’ve been silenced before, a decent amount. None of it on Classic. All of my silences have been from playing on an RP Realm through Legion. Doing anything can warrant a silence there.
Well your best option is using discord with your guild and grouping with at least 1 of them to find groups. But boy I’d be curious to know what type of rant warrants a 2 month silence.
