This is interesting down at the bottom of the patch notes. Silenced players can’t list or apply to groups, and groups with a silenced player get delisted.
So being a toxic idiot finally has some downsides. Nice.

Well If it’s anything like Twitter, you’ll get called toxic and then reported just for telling somebody they are wrong.
They may have gotten kicked already due to not being able to respond.
Can’t wait to see people come to the forums to complain about it. I predict they will be salty and toxic, and it will be no surprise that they were silenced. Just a feeling. A notion. A hunch, if you will.
Won’t affect me, I never talk in the game anyways. I used to years ago but now it’s just a simple GG or thanks! That’s it.
That also sounds heavily abusable. Not that i care i hardly talk in pugs.
Would this save tanks and healers from abuse? doubtful. but it’s a good start.
Gets silenced for calling somebody out on having bad dps.

It’s more about how you tell someone they have bad dps. Just getting reports won’t do anything because it still needs to be reviewed.
This is absolutely incorrect, silenced do go out without review
While Blizzard will need to be careful of abuse, feels like the report will actually mean something that can really hinder repeat offenders.
At least now cussing out someone you didn’t like in a chat can have ramifications beyond just a chat ban, now they have to suffer
HUGE difference between saying someone’s “DPS isn’t good enough” and saying “Your DPS/tanking/healing is trash, stay in LFR where you belong”.
How you say things matters.
I personally don’t think it’s necessary in most situations to tell someone they are bad or are pulling bad numbers, but if it is absolutely necessary there’s a right and wrong way to go about it.
I’m sure if someone feels they were falsely silenced they can go through the motions to contest it… and to them, I say good luck. It is what it is, and it’s about time people reap what they sow when it comes to the things they say online.
But if the person saying this isn’t wrong, then no prob
You can be correct and not be scum at the same time.
WoW the game is excellent.
WoW the community is toxic.
Blizzard needs to just do some major customer service and this ship will be sailing high and mighty. Shadowlands is a good expansion. When you feed it to a toxic community they don’t appreciate it.
Little things like harsher punishments for toxic behavior will get us moving in the right direction.
This is easier for some than it is for others. Toxicity has become the norm in today’s online society.
Oh, it is so sad that you feel that way.
But that’s not my problem! Good luck in your future endeavors!
Ooh. That sounds like a threat. I like that.
If this is true, one report won’t be enough to trigger it.
You probably consider somebody making toast a threat.
