Silence on Slime Cat

FTFY

I mean, come on Awkward. Show me in this picture where it’s vague.

It’s vague if I close my eyes and don’t look at it.

I looked at that link you posted, and I didn’t see any Blizzard post?

I see Neryssa’s post, but Neryssa doesn’t work for Blizzard. They work for WoWhead.

Yes which was an official comment from blizz, if blizz started lying to wowhead that would cause things to go sour very very quickly. So why does that matter? I’m not sure why I’m bothering to respond to you because you’re so locked to the “blizz did nothing wrong” that any evidence clear as daylight otherwise isn’t going to convince you. /sigh

That post literally says they don’t know if the mount would be available in LFR. Dunno what you’re trying to say here. Neryssa doesn’t work for Blizzard.

On the topic, you guys are quick to take an achievement at face value, issued from ptr, and corrected before it was actually achievable, but yet quick to dismiss an april ptr post stating the mount is a normal mount reward.

I thought Neryssa was the candle person?

Pretty much silence on all of it, the cat, the EXP boost, and the absolute lack of anything in S4 for open world players. Well, we did get the typical FU on the EXP bonus thing.

Highly disappointing.

Wowhead staffer and community council member:

Wait, if Neryssa works for wowhead, how could they “update the achievement”?

I’m so confused. :sob:

The most likely 3 is the idea that LFR wasn’t supposed to be fated, as was datamined, and when they decided to add LFR to the rotation, nobody thought about updating the tooltip.

Nah, that’s Nethaera I think?

Was it? I’m not seeing them quote anyone, nor is there a transcript from an interview?

Did Blizzard lie? Or did the WoWhead employee simply make a guess that ended up being wrong?

I feel like differentiating between “BLIZZARD DELIBERATELY LIED TO US” and “A WoWhead guide writer was wrong about a datamined achievement” are two different things.

Something something pot something something kettle

Neither of which are Blizzard employees.

They didn’t, they were quoting a blizz dev from an official response. It happens all the time in regards to PTR content. It saves blizz the time of having to do a full press release and go through their painful process to release anything to players.

Are you purposely avoiding this picture?

I’m curious what you think is vague.

Alright, you’re right.

It’s not vague. It’s just wrong. I’ll take that L. Regardless, the achievement tooltip has been fixed and Blizzard have clarified that it’s a reward for normal and higher.

Claiming that they’ve been silent on this manner is silly. They’ve been crystal clear, it’s just people don’t agree with their stance.

That achievement was made before LFR was a fated raid.

They just forgot to update the achievement for the mount.

Well they haven’t been crystal clear. Like I stated before, they didn’t “clear things up” until 5 days before Fated raids and they did it with a forum post. I know you have been around along enough to know that a tiny fraction of the player base comes to the forums.

And they corrected the “mistake” less then 24 hours before Fated went live. They had three months to do that. They also had three months to make an official announcement that it was a mistake.

Again, the way they handled this mess is what’s making a lot of people mad. They’re supposed to be all about listening to feedback and communication but this situation shows that they are not doing this.

I’m not really talking about the visitors to the forums though, I’m talking about those who basically live here.

Do they want hourly updates from Blizzard saying “yup? Slime Kitty is still a Normal+ reward?”.

Agreed, they should have clarified as soon as it became clear that LFR Fated was going to be a thing.

You and I both know that a lack of communication isn’t why most people are mad. They’re just mad that the slime cat takes more effort to get.

So, basically, you agree the communication was poor. Which is the point of the thread.

Is your argument here strictly recreational, or … ?

I’d say that’s being a bit too charitable to the multimillion dollar corporation regarding what they’re offering the plurality of their userbase. Never attribute to malice and all that, of course, but in some cases there is just ill intent, whether born of spite or simple greed.

Especially when you consider this:

The way I see it, is SLIME cat is apropos, considering the slimy way Blizz handled the situation, whether or not you agree or disagree on where the cat should be? NO one should be happy with shady business practices, and those who are happy? won’t be when Blizz decides to bend them over at the next available moment… personally I could care less about the mount… just concerned about shoddy business practices going forward.
