Why exactly are the Eredar and Vrykul “ridiculous”?
Is it because the Eredar are “evil”?
Well, the Forsaken are playable, and their whole deal back when they were added was that they wanted to destroy the living for rejecting them, along with the Lich King. I reckon the Eredar are less evil than the Vanilla Forsaken, since their goal is to save the universe from the Void Lords, it’s just the method that is questionable.
Is it because the Vrykul are huge? There’s a fix for that. Magic! Give the Vrykul a Racial where they use a Vrykul Magic Rune to shrink down to a size where they can walk through doors.
If a Race exists in the Warcraft Universe, it’s not “ridiculous” to want to play it. Ridiculous would be if you wanted to play Protoss or Klingon.
Lol. Sorry if I came off a bit heavy there. My fault.
It’s not beyond the abilities of the current writers to say something that makes that little sense just to make whatever narrative they’re going for. The thing about Yrel though, is that what they did to her really does kind of break my heart. She was so genuinely good before, and they turned her into a murdering zealot.
They’re what the eredar are when boiled down to the base components. It’s how all the compromises worked.
The reason the lightforged were made the allied race over the Broken was because there was more demand for Eredar (Who can be simplified as the “Militant, red draenei who conquer worlds” and thus got compromised to the Lightforge “Militant, alabaster draenei who liberate worlds”) over the Broken.
Explain how more focus into the druidic curse that caused the worgen in the first place would be bad for either of them? That’s like saying “Man, the HM Tauren sure were terrible for the regular Tauren”
The eredar are 100% demon, and after trying to conquer Azeroth so many times without pangs of guilt or regret, to have them decide “We like this faction, we’re going to work with them.” Is absolutely absurd. Not to mention how either faction would react to the offer. One faction is made of literally all their failed war experiments, curses, and their direct victims that fought HARD to be free from their influence.
And the other faction is the Alliance.
As for Vrykul, it’s admittedly not as ridiculous, but it is sort of “wrong” so to speak. We’ve been fighting them since WotLK. It’s as wrong as playing Amani trolls. They’re doing their own thing.
In both cases, they’re sort of lines that are too far out there even for Blizzard, which really should say something based on how they treat most of the lore.
You mean “trying to save the universe from the Void Lords”. From the Legion’s PoV, Azeroth and mortals are the biggest tool the Void Lords have to consume the Universe and leave nothing behind.
If you watch the Kil’jaeden defeat cinematic you’ll see his pangs of guilt and regret.
That’s not the only way it could happen. Theoretically there are Eredar working for the Alliance and the Horde already, they are summoned by Warlocks. Velen could also bring Eredar who were too young or yet to be born when the Eredar joined the Legion. Remember when he tried to protect his Demon son from us?
The Eredar and the Orcs have the exact same story, just replace the corruptor, with Kil’jaeden for the Orcs and Sargeras for the Eredar. The corruptor posed as a benevolent figure, tricked them into consuming fel, then they went and genocided the Draenei lol
If anyone has the ability to understand the Eredar, it’s Orcs.
We’ve fought more Draenor Orcs than Vrykul. We had an entire expansion about killing Draenor Orcs. Yet they are playable. We also fought the Dark Iron Dwarves from Vanilla to Cataclysm. That’s just a bad reason not to do something. We are also friends with the Broken Isles Vrykul.
Only HMT were made for tauren.
Would night elf worgen be made for worgens?
Would a race of elves be right to be tied to a race of cursed humans?
And what should Night Elves expect?
Would Night Elves Worgen be given to Night Elves? And what would the worgen receive in the future? A two-meter race of gnomes? I think this is possible.
What would make night Elves worgen different from conventional worgen? Any customizations that are not being done for Gilneans? well, that sounds bad to me.
Whoever suggests night elves worgen never stops to think about it or care about it for what it seems.
It seems that nothing can be done in the alliance if the paradigm of ‘It is not reasonable to exist in the alliance’ is broken.
The Eredar were the ones who corrupted the orcs in the first place. It was their plan and their idea.
They eredar are responsible for the Scourge
The feltotem
Elisandre’s felborne forces
The corruption of the Blood Elves and the corruption/destruction of the Sunwell TWICE
Warlocks are very much only barely tolerated by both factions though, “summoned by Warlocks” isn’t a defense. And note that it took Velen and all of Kil’jaeden’s history with him to draw out the only pang of guilt or regret we’ve ever seen from the Eredar.
Also:
Is the same thing. If the eredar won, They would of conquered Azeroth and turned it into another Argus, which would of “saved” it from the Void Lords. Mortals being a weakness the Void Lords can exploit would still be their POV, and they’d likely want to Fel up whatever faction they joined immediately.
A race of werewolves that have human forms tied to a race of werewolves that have elf forms? That makes absolute sense.
But that’s another thing. You have the mindset that the allied races all have to be tied to a race already in the faction. They don’t. There was no one race that brought the vulpera into the Horde. There was no one race that brought the V.Elves into the Alliance.
Ask for things that make sense. Don’t ask for Nagas (Seriously, I see this one a lot) and get mad when you don’t get Nagas.
If it’s for the alliance, it never makes sense.
Except for another joke.
And vulpes use the rig of goblins.
and the devs wanted the horde to have something special.
For the Horde we can make that choice.
for the alliance? Does not make sense.
The problem with that line of thinking is assuming that:
1 - All Eredar were plotting to corrupt the Orcs, create the Scourge and corrupt the Feltotem and Elissande’s elves.
2 - That they are allowed to do whatever they want, and that they aren’t Sargeras’ slaves bound to his will with no options beyond obedience, duped into selling themselves to the Legion in exchange for promises of knowledge about the “fundamental flaw of the universe” and the opportunity to fix it.
3 - That all Eredar chose to be Eredar.
Think of Eredar like Rakeesh or Eradication. Rakeesh was a little kid when the deal happened. Eradication wasn’t even born. Is it their fault that they were Demons? Is it their fault that they had to destroy planets for a crazy Titan with no concept of mercy and no chill?
Heck, there’s an Archeology item that is a ball that Demons use to artificially make themselves Fel-Angry if they aren’t normally bad-to-the-bone enough to destroy planets.
Shes probably loyal to odin. I’d choose him over Anduin too, if I had the choice.
Seriously, why cant they level our leaders (including Hordes) up to that level of leadership and accomplishment. Oh wait they have, Jaina got the royal treatment in bfa.
I see, and because of this small chance that this group of eredar, that has consistently ruined the lives of their entire race at a time, actually do want peace and not to corrupt them to fel with the most zero-brains infiltration plan ever, the horde will let bygones be bygones?
I will agree that no one asked for mechagnomes (Seriously though, with the work that went into them, it feels like someone on the development team got to do their dream idea and no one stopped them)
But Kul Tirans are exactly what I mean by compromise.
Vrykul are humans but big and strong. But Blizzard doesn’t want playable Vrykul, so they made Kul Tirans, who are…big and strong humans (In a more natural way, Vrykul are 0% body fat abominations)
The Horde has a history of letting bygones be bygones.
The Orcs ravaged Quel’thalas. The Elves of Quel’thalas joined the Horde.
The Humans of Lordaeron imprisoned the Orcs in slave camps. The Humans of Lordaeron (now slightly deceased) joined the Horde.
The WoD Orcs tried to conquer Azeroth. Joined the Horde.
The Nightborne willingly allied themselves with the Legion to save their own hide. Joined the Horde (Thalyssra herself talks about that in Orgrimmar, how they forgave Elissande’s goons after Elissande was defeated)
The Zandalari were allies of the Mogu and tried to conquer Pandaria. The Zandalari joined the Horde.
The Sylvanas loyalists that asked for forgiveness were all instantly forgiven. There are a bunch of little events in Orgrimmar about people trying to deny former SLs service (bank, portal, AH, etc) and faction leaders appearing and telling people to forgive.
By the end of the day, the Man’ari aren’t any worse as people than any of those people I just talked about. They just had bigger guns and a meaner master.
I can’t find the cutscene on this but do remember seeing it. Northrend.
The Kul Tirans are descendants of the Vykul
The Curse of Flesh is a curse created by the Old God Yogg-Saron suffered by many titanic creations. The Curse originated from the Forge of Wills and slowly spread through the titan-forged, turning them from metal and stone to flesh beings.
Iron Vrykul / Vrykul / Humans:
When afflicted by the Curse, the newborn children of the vrykul of Northrend began to be born stunted and weak. In response, King Ymiron decreed that all malformed infants were to be killed at birth and that the vrykul would renounce their former gods who had now forsaken them.
However, some vrykul parents secretly escorted their children to safety, providing them with limited supplies and leaving them on an unfamiliar shoreline in the land that would later become known as the Eastern Kingdoms. These malformed vrykul children would later become known as humans.
The KT model is so horrible that if it wasn’t for the Mechagnomes they would still reign as the least played race in the game. So much work went into building up the KT story and then the model ruins it all.
