Sigils build

How bad is it in both M+ and raid respectively in comparison to your standard brand/soul carver build?

Just curious from the more experienced veng players

sigil build?? you can replace fodder for decree in m+ but thats still in the soulcarver dilf build. theres no build that doesnt use soul carver

You just go down the right side of the tree for Cycle of Binding and all that jazz with chains.

in pure pure st yo ucan take cycle of binding over burning alive but thats it, you dont take chains at any content because its surrounded by dead talents and in narina. not to mention chains kinda sucks and has no usage

Chains is super cool and I would love to take it, aoe stops are some of the best abilities in dungeons u know

My alt DH uses a sigil spec but I haven’t tried it in pretty high M+ content. Honestly I think it can hold its own. Chains is fun and helps Cycle of Binding. You give up some tankiness for sure with no fodder, but overall the talents you swap out for sigils aren’t a huge deal for most content imo.

I can’t see a reason to use it for most raid bosses tho.

chains is covered by alot of dead talents, in narnia and has niche usages at best, niche usage that can already be covered with sigil of misery which is way easier to grab. aoe stops are really really good, but the amount you sacrifice is just not worth it

i implore you to test it in logs and post said logs, this is the first ive ever heard of a sigil buil and it sounds absolute atrocious. luckily fodder can be replaced by ed due to the souls funneling into the tier set, as long as you launch ed with fraility stacks. if your talking about 10 keys then sure? you could play anything in that bracket. but anything around 17-20 and above i feel like your just inting your own survivability damage and your group by a large margin.

i can only guess what build it is, please link me a talent string so i can see the horror first hand

cause even then getting cycle of binding in exchange of brand spread is a huge int, fallout is non negotiable since its alot of souls per immo aura in aoe which helps threat and general bulkiness/damage not to mention violtile flame blood also increases the usefullness of immo aura as a defensive boon by granting you fury.

i just dont see how this build can be useful in anywy

Mainly because I’m a degenerate tank DH pvper and I wanted to try to make a spec for pve with sigils. But no, I haven’t done a +20 with a sigil spec…yet. These talents don’t seem that far away for me because they’re used in PvP alot.

thats the thing the difference between pve and pvp are pretty solid, that most classes have different builds for both content thats so different that if you run the other in other content its legit lowkey trolling. ya you can run anything bellow 15-20.

see this tree for pve is beyond trolling yoru are killing your defensive power and offensive power for sigil memes.

for example not running agonizing flames hurts your brand becuase less immo time, no fall out means alot of souls wont be generated which means you are killing your m ain source of sustain, no violtile flame blood means you making it harder to generatefury, along with the lack of dgb which can be switched out for other things but still has a very solid purpose of getting you into meta more often which is a huge defensive and offensive boon.

not to mention no burning blood which means less tier brand damage and brand damage in general which means no friality healing aka less sustain,

soul monger which is a known trap talent that will take what little your already healing and names it “soul monger”, no soul crush which is a meme since your completely down the fraility part of the tree,

sigil of chains and its gate of pointless weak talents like fel flame fortification which gives you a wooping .5% overal mitigation maybe even less cause no agonizing flames for immo extension, revel in pain which is buggy and undertuned like this thing sometimes wont give yo ua shield until 10 seconds after brand wears off so literally no defensive value until you chain pulling like a mad lad (which you wont cause your already sacking alot of defense), chains of anger which absolute does nothing of value that you can already do with regular sigils. legit the only things that isnt trolling in this build is ed cause tier synergy.

also no collective anguish and not even misery in defeat if your gonna run sigil of misery plsu no vr and unrestrained fury.

idk nothing about pvp, but this build will just give you your team and your healer so much unneeded stress and anxiety that i wouldnt suggest it. like your probably losing ALOT of everything trying to get sigil of chains alone.

Well man, the meta specs are the meta specs for a reason XD

Still, DHs and tanks in general are just extremely strong right now. Maxing survivability is great but as a healer I rarely worry about the tanks. They’re insanely durable right now.

DH still outputs tons of damage even in sigil spec. They’re just that strong. In some dungeons, the quick cycling on silence sigil does provide lots of prevented damage. I didn’t get soul crush because I don’t spam soul cleave that much.

I did make some changes based on your suggestions tho. My stance is that min/maxing tank specs, especially DH, is less meaningful because they’re inherently crazy strong. Sigils do have some unique advantages too so it’s not exactly worthless. For example, I can tell DPS get super excited when you cleanly stack up mobs for AOE :smiley:

I’ll keep at it and see how it works at higher keys.
