This place is by far one of the worst dungeon experiences - even at 0-4 levels
The first half of the instance is actually ok. Everything up to cannon boss is fine - the grips are a little annoying but otherwise it’s a good time.
The trash leading up to boss 3 is largely ok except for three things;
There’s a lot of bananas. Like WAY too many bananas
The magic silence with heavy dot can be placed on the healer. The healer cannot do anything about it without an immunity.
The Azerite Charge and Mass grip from the raiders can overlap, resulting in an unavoidable mechanic
Boss 3 is not terrible but the hit box of the waves is not good, and the waves being able to come from opposite sides sucks without a movement speed boost. The patches on the ground exascerbate both of these problems.
Boss 4; Whoever made the design decisions on this fight needs proper coaching. Whoever QAd and approved this fight needs proper coaching. This fight is the worst World of Warcraft dungeon fight I think I’ve ever experienced.
The knockbacks are one of the biggest offenders to making this a miserable experience. Combined with the debuffs and the ground swirls make this far too unfair.
Platform 3 in particular is notorious due to limited space
Traversing between platform 2 and 3 has wierd clipping and you often end up in the water.
If you removed the knockback on the last boss, this dungeon would instantly be 80% better than it is. Hats off to those who can do this place on higher keys because it’s just not a good time.
I got my 2k today so I don’t have to go back to Siege (until I want my portal at least).
That entire place is just the definition of not fun. There is basically no part of the dungeon that I would consider better than “neutral” fun. The best part of Siege would be the worst part of any dungeon.
It wasn’t this miserable in BFA. Like it wasn’t great, but this current iteration is just awful.
You gotta understand this is also like what a 6-8 year old dungeon? Nothing was changed about it. So let that simmer before you make an outcry that someone needs to be fired.
Also note, saying someone needs coaching is also an avenue for most companies, to fire people. In this industry, people are replaceable, if some one needs coaching, the company wont just help them theyll just fire them and replace them with someone better because the cost to improve on that person, doesnt outweigh just replacing them all together
If you want to infer that that’s on you. But I didn’t say that. Also you just simply can’t confirm that with 100% accuracy and has not always been my personal experience in corporate environments.
This is probably the first season…i’ve been scared to heal. Grim batol is plain awful. Seige is a nightmare, it took me 4 tries at necrotic wake because of horrible tanks.
I am going to bide my time TBH. i will try and get my times in where i can, but i honestly wont be rushing towards 5s+ anytime soon…
I’ve only healed a 0 Necrotic and it was challenging, but I was also only in 580 ilvl. It wasn’t exactly a great dungeon in Shadowlands either, so I can understand this point, Especially if you’re a healer without mobility/instant casts.
I think the damage profiles in there are a little high, but I was suprised to see the 2nd boss be so reasonable, but the 3rd boss so much harder.
Siege of Boralus is just such an outlier - because the damage profiles of mobs are overall reasonable, but the lack of being able to actually play the game because you have to move for a mechanic, get gripped, get knocked back, eat a silence etc stands out as a miserable gameplay experience.
Siege is not my favorite dungeon for sure. But, it does get better with practice.
Bananas are not too bad, but they are definitely more annoying when you are at the parts where the trees also blocking the view.
Mass grip seems slightly too frequent. More importantly, I don’t think it makes sense that the mass grip should have what seems to be an almost infinite range.
Boss 3 is OK for the most part as long as everyone is paying attention and positions properly in advance. But, it can get tricky when the boss overlaps the frontal with waves. Not sure if the overlap is intended.
Last boss becomes significantly easier once the knockback tentacle is dead. So, make sure everyone always focuses and kills it first.
maybe our fight didn’t drag on long enough but I swear the nerfed the fight already the tentacle the tank holds never spawned another despite us losing a dps on first platform so the fight could have been far worse
yeah nah im done with the game after doing this, im done beta testing for blizzard, couple more dungeons for ksm then im out perma. this was gifted for me but i can’t fathom this season anymore im burnt already.
