Someone please explain to me how to stop the ads when opening bnet to play wow.
EVERY
SINGLE
TIME
I LOG INTO WOW… i’m forced to watch an ads for one of those other games i HATE!!.. No option, just forced into my face. Have to manually close it with my own fingers. Why cant i just play WoW when i click the WoW game icon to play WoW? All blizzard is doing with these ads is making me so angry because i will never EVER play CoD or D4 or Retail. I HATE THOSE GAMES MORE THAN ANY OTHER GAMES IN MY LIFE. I actively avoid them at all costs literally.
Please, is there a way i can play Classic without having to see an ad? Anyone help me please? I did not get 2 masters degrees just to watch ads…
To expand on this a bit, you should be able to create a short cut to it that you can access from start menu, desktop, or wherever so you don’t have to constantly navigate to the wow exe folder.
Local Disk > Program Files > World of Warcraft > World of Warcraft Launcher
or
Local Disk > Program Files > World of Warcraft > _Classic_Era_ > Wow Classic
The only trouble with doing this, is that you will have to systematically login to the Bnet app in order to update the game and realm version. otherwise you’ll get an “incompatible realm” error message
Right click on either of the above launchers/.exe and send to your desktop as quick launch icons.
I think OP is talking about the pop up ad that covers the launcher. I think it’s the new call of duty atm? Yeah you just have to click it away, but then there are also more “updates” for OW2 and such.
It’s a bit annoying, and the process does feel pushy and markety when you have no interest in any of the other actiblizz games.
Is this something you only notice when you relaunch bnet? I haven’t been forced to watch any ads I just click whatever version of wow i want to launch and play
That’s what I’m thinking. an easy solution is to just keep battle.net open and minimize it. Would only have to close the ads after bnet updates or until you restart your computer.
i think they listened to me, because i finally didnt get an Ad in my face this time after todays patch. good thing someone there is listening to the right players.
You can put a shortcut to the game itself on the desktop, and then log in using the WoW login screen, never even touching battlenet. Authenticator will work from wow login screen.
