after 20 years you would think ya’ll can be more creative than the stale old arenas

Because they have been trying new formats as of late :dracthyr_yay_animated:

To be honest I dislike most newer arenas. So I’m cool with a traditional / classic format.

I think arena is a great game mode.

Gameplay changes and class design is what makes it stale. IE CC nerfs, more emphasis on PVE rotations and CDS/Mini Cds feeling less impactful and game deciding.

Besides one or more class/spec dominating for ages at a time.

Yea, got to love the person who came up with the idea of balancing pvp in an MMORPG around a confined setting with three pillars that limit some classes more than others. And the only objective is to gank one person as quickly as possible with your swifty macro is somehow considered “fun” pvp.

Especially when the objective has been the same for over a decade.

I think thats less of an isssue. Balance plays a more dominant role with arena frustrations. The feeling of feeling limited and unfair stems from some classes clearly dominating for long periods of time and little effort from balance team to aggressively have everyone towing the line.

If we had weekly and bi weekly tuning this wouldn’t be an issue.

Edit: The game doesn’t have a PVP focus so its never gonna happen. If blizzards approach to PVP was to say "These talents/builds are underplayed/underperforming lets tune them. PVP would be thriving and continue to bring in new players.

A game like league that is PVP focused with consistent adjustments with its huge playerbase is testament that even something older can thrive and continue to draw people in if its cared for. WoW is not a moba obviously but would still draw a huge crowd on retail if there was a focus on elevating weaker specs and addressing design problems be it rotation wise, talents or just numbers.

In its current neglected form its only dwindling and fading out little by little.

This is the most fun game ever created imo. Dwarf fortress and dominions are a close 2nd n third.

It’s like nothing forces large defensive cds except for large offensive cds. Then people fail to get any kill potential until the offensive cds are back again. Healers easily keep people topped until deep dampening and even if they sit a 9 second CC chain they can top people off with 2 globals.

There’re only a few specs that have really threatening CC chains or threatening burst set up @ or under the 1 minute mark. In shuffle, it’s best to play specs that either do high sustained damage (like afflock/mm), or have really long burst windows (like DH, Ret).

Can anything actually die to ret if there’s no MS under a min though? Easiest games on priest have been ret games, unless the healer is afk or one of those rdruids running around in cat form.

i haven’t done blades edge in so long, it would be better if they just removed little side ramps. add the rope and literally let me play it.
