Used 5 Autosalvagers and not one dropped yet. I thought these were 50% drop rates?

EDIT: I have salvaged 10 shredders and not one has dropped. This clearly has to be some sort of bug?

This old version of the game is designed for trash mobs to give more exp than quests themselves. The completion of the quests is just a small boost, and simple rewards.
0/10 =/= 50% rate. 5/10 = 50% rate. Mafs

For clarity, he’s not talking about a quest, he’s talking about an SoD specific rune acquiring path that requires a profession item that has a 50% chance to give you the item you want

Yeah sounds like bad luck.
I had a problem with one of my runes in Westfall.
Pretty bad luck. In my experience the drop rate is closer to 70%.
Are you using them on the correct shredders? The ones in Stonetalon?
Rng is rng.
Back in classic doing the horde tauren mill quest for herberts sword (killing the elite dwarves) it has a 10% drop chance.
I had to kill over 100 of them for it to drop.

Yea I suppose if I didn’t hear that it was suppose to be a 50% drop then I’d leave it at that and chalk it up to vanilla RNG which was abhorrent. (poor murlocs not dropping their own heads x.x;)
I brought 25 and had one to spare for 16. It’s not broken, you just had terrible RNG.
And fyi, the named shredders always drop one.

Not actually true. Just seemingly higher chance. I’ve had them not drop before.

Well, the point is basically still there. I farmed 5 or 6 of them and got a part every time. Maybe it’s not 100%, but it’s still worth waiting for if you don’t want to risk the drop chance.
I agree. They’re probably 90-95% vs regular shredders’ 65-70%.
Totally get that. But if something is stated to have a 50% rate of acquisition, then by 20 I should have 10, right? If I go 0/20, that’s not a 50% drop rate. That’s a 0% drop rate.
It’s never stated what the drop rate is, people just assume based on their results, and there have been a lot of tests.
