I’ve been told that using #showtooltips allows me to see spell information when I hover over the macro on my action bar, yet it doesn’t show. Am I doing something wrong? Macro, for context:
#showtooltip Smite
/cast Smite
Pick the ? for your icon and you don’t need to specify the spell, it will pull it from the /cast. Only time you need to specify is if you want it to be different from what ends up getting cast.
I did this and still I don’t see the tool tip.

Then you’ve got an addon or something modifying your tooltips.
Do you see tooltips when you mouse over the spell in your spellbook?
If not try /console UberTooltips 1
The spellbook looks fine to me.
Are you dragging the macros to your bars before you try to look at the tooltips?
You would be correct
Then you must have an addon interfering with things.
I disabled all of my addons and it still won’t show.
Can you post screenshots of what your tooltips look like for a spell from your spell book on your bars and a macro on your bars?
Use imgur.com (or whatever) and paste the url between ` (key to the left of 1) so the forums don’t complain about your lack of permissions to post links.
