Show crafters stats when putting in an order

So I saw someone advertising their blacksmithing in trade chat yesterday with a link to their recipe book stating they could r5 craft almost anything (tools, weapons, armor) at a 43% inspiration rate at 418 and additionally could do any weapon at 392/405 guaranteed regardless of addons (missive/embellishment).

The issue with that though is that in order for him to be able to guarantee 405 ilvl he would have had to been specced into those specific weapon categories, which is if I recall correctly around 150-210 points to max everything (assuming base skill of 300 + 30 for infusion, 15 for missive, and 25 for embellishment).

Additionally, he also had several plate armor recipes that you only unlock by putting ~10 points into each of their respective categories.

But then he also stated that he could do tools as well which means that he would to have had to have dumped at least 90+ points into the toolsmithing and other sections of that portion of the spec.

AND he has 43% inspiration which the only way I could see it being that high is if he had the inspiration tree maxed out which is another 60 points minimum.

Basically, based on the amount of recipes he had access to and the claims he was making, it just didn’t add up. So I asked around a bit and turns out that crafter seemed to get really unlucky with his 43% inspiration chances. So realistically he probably had roughly half of what he was claiming to have and just put enough points into the different specs to unlock as many items alas he could so as to maximize his potential crafts.

Now the only reason I knew that there just wasn’t a realistic way he could have what he said he has is because I’m a blacksmith myself on two toons (this and my main), and my main isn’t close to what he said he had despite playing since day 1 and maximizing knowledge gains.

The fact that we can’t see the crafters skill / spec trees is kinda crazy to me. I feel like this should be something very publicly available as we go to submit the order so we can make sure that they have what they say they have

The problem is that a lot of the stats are from gear, what is to stop them having one set of gear for advertising and another for crafting with different stats.

Would be nice. Also if anyone is claiming to craft R5 Heroic or Mythic infusions guaranteed with all optional reagents be wary, they be scamming.

Nothing, but like there’s zero incentive for them to make themselves actively craft worse though. Whereas there is incentive to be disingenuous about their stats initially

they can have an inspiration set to get orders and then a multicraft and mat reduction set as they keep the left over mats

then simply force them to be wearing that gear when they craft the item. The technology more or less already exists with the guarantee min quality request and not being able to even attempt to craft the item without meeting the min quality

Crafting orders are RNG. I’ve just accepted this. Unless you are willing to pay for an insight then you just keep putting in orders until you get lucky.

43% chance means there’s a 57% chance it fails or almost 3 in 5. If you don’t want to buy an insight, you’ll have to get mats for at least 5 orders and ask them to crank out until you get what you want.

Yeah RNG is a part of crafting, and it could take 5 attempts to make something with 40% inspire and it wouldn’t be out of the out of the ordinary.

The issue is with there being no way to verify crafter’s actual stats so that people can just lie and it’s extremely easy to get away with it because getting bad luck on 1 or 2 transactions isn’t going to be cause enough to raise suspicions.

We don’t want the RNG aspect of crafting changed, all we want is a way to verify the actual inspire chance someone has when crafting stuff so we know (and maybe more importantly so our customers know) what people can actually do.

so 41% is max right now + 2% from sagacious incense however for a lot of tools I craft i can proc r5 even though my minimum is r3. I am always upfront with all clients and tell them exactly my odds and get a confirmation from them before hitting the craft button. I agree we need to find way to make so less people get scammed be it sellers or buyers.

I covered this in another thread, but it all depends. Like in Blacksmithing, Heroic is definitely R5 guaranteeable with all optional reagents specified. Mythic is R5 guaranteeable for Blacksmithing Armor with all optional reagents, but not Blacksmithing weapons. So it sort of depends on the profession and the particular item whether that statement is true.

if hes got everything unlocked and maxxed out and max inspiration etc he probably used the exploit before it was patched to get his spec trees maxxed out. its not impossible to have it done just means he was one of the exploiters that blizz didnt punish / reset.
