Shout out to MoonGuard from a PvP server for 20 years player

Iirc, Tich is horde heavy server and MG is alliance heavy.

Is that still the case?

How so? Sorry it bothers you that someone had a good experience?

Not as strong as MG used to be. MG used to even have a patrol that would have the best PvPers on the realm, yea we called them REALMS back in the day…and we would go out and /rp walk our mounts along the road and stuff and would help anyone who had problems with WPvP stuff. Now people just make fun of MG but it did used to have lots of good players back in the day. Ally used to be so much better back in the day. Used to be strong. Didnt have to quest by teaming up in groups. But that patrol. Full of the best players on the realm. But never spawn camped. You didnt have to be level 60 to join it btw. But had to have at least a riding mount of some sort. Pretty fun. Now that patrol could be so much better because of the mog that allows to mog like you are a Stromwind guard. You can put all that gear on to mog, put on your Knight title (most in the patrol had high PvP titles so if they still existed today they would do that) and then just patrol around. MG was not the only realm that did that btw. But yea only Alliance had those patrols and on more than one realm too.

“No sharding” is a lie and MG shards all over you during peak hours, especially if you’re in Stormwind or Darkshire.

But otherwise I’m glad you’ve found out that other than Goldshire, it’s just a bunch of idiots sitting in inns together and having dance parties.

Hey, I am not an idiot, I am a training unprofessional!

I really enjoyed Emerald Dream back in BFA.

I also enjoy connected Burningblade/ Lightningsblade/onyxia/icerown. And this is the only non-RP realm i am part of.

I also have toons on MoonGaurd and enjoy it. Moonguard shards too much though.

MG was dominated by the Horde back in the day, and they very much went out and patrolled in that manner. The Alliance had the advantage in PvE in those days, but that was mostly because of a single guild that transferred in from another server.

He’s just upset that he hasn’t seen anyone in this thread relating ‘unsavory’ stories about Moon Guard.

RP realms have always kind of been the secret “fun place” in MMOs, though lots of people get turned off some of the role-playing themes other players like to flaunt (like injecting “modern politics” into the game).

Moon Guard is not like it used to be, but still very active.

I was actually shocked at how quiet Stormrage and Proudmoore are. They used to be very chatty in Trade and LFG. Now hardly a peep.

Moon Guard, on the other hand, still active.

But gone are its glory days.

I started Wow in Legion on a small, semi-dead brazillian server. Later in Shadowlands, I migrated to Stormrage but still felt like OP described. I still play on my main there, but ever since I watched a video on MoonGuard by a youtuber named Sixsten and heard about the community and no sharding, I levelled a copy of this character there, and recently levelled a night elf hunter for the first time (big time human & worgen player here) because I dabble in classic and wanted my hunter from classic to have a TWW counterpart. I am LOVING it. The world feels alive. If I ever manage to gear the moonguard Nelf to the level I am on my main, I might swap mains entirely.

Thanks to cross-realm guilds, I can keep playing with my Stormrage guild while reaping the benefits of living on an RP realm. Shoutout to MoonGuard indeed!

I started on Feathermoon in December 2005, and eventually ended up on Moon Guard sometime around 2007 or 2008. The RP server experience was cool. I was even able to raid.

Currently on Stormrage and I see a lot of people, but not a lot of socializing.

MG would be my home if I didn’t have such a crap ping on that realm!

Yea and Illidan used to be ran by the Alliance.

That’s not accurate. You can tell when MG shards because roleplayers have to throw a tantrum to get single-layering turned back on every time some world event gets it switched off. “Current” content does still have sharding/layering, so currently anything in the Isle of Dorn and such you can end up in another layer.

Are you sure that you’re using the term “sharding” right? Sharding is when multiple layers of an area are created and people randomly get shuffled to one or another and can’t see each other. It sounds more like you’re talking about lag, which yes, is the downside to a single crowded layer.

I wish I could enjoy pvp but I stopped trusting Blizzard to deal with botters in a timely manner long ago.

The game is too full of sunk cost fallacied players buying boosts to get bussed by cheaters and bad actors for me to ever try pvp.

It is actually why I play pve in wow rather than pvp in overwatch. Getting botted at isnt fun, especially when they arent getting dealt with. All it takes is one person to ruin your day and theres plenty of that in Blizzard games.

It is bad I feel I cant trust anyone in this game. Too many people have not grown up. Too many people who are manipulative or put on an act.

Welcome to Moon Guard friend!

I approve of MoonGuard and the wonderful community, enjoy your time and reliving the WoW community.

Tichondrius? I thought we were at war with them… cause they kick our butts in BGs so often…

They really need to turn sharding on worldwide and just leave it.
