I’ve been playing for 20 years on Tichondrius, Area-52 & Stormrage. Always been a big PvP player so never considered a RP realm.
I’m the only one of my group that still plays & It’s been pretty lonely the last 10 years since nobody talks anymore & its feels like you’re playing with lifeless bots. So I found myself playing a lot less over the years.
I decided to give MoonGuard a shot because I heard the community is more active & boy are they. People talk in instances, people talk in trade chat, people talk in the world & lookingforgroup chat is always active. The no sharding in the old world where people are active breaths life into the zones.
I feel like I’m playing WoW of old again & It’s a blast to feel like I’m apart of a server again. I’ve leveled 6 toons to max level over the last month & I just can’t see myself ever leaving.
Thanks MoonGuard you very much saved me from giving up on playing this game.
PS: If you’re in the same boat as me give it a shot. It’s not “weird” like some people make it out to be. Just avoid Goldshire inn XD

I have a couple toons on MG on a different account. A buddy convinced me to try it out. It is a good community most people are extremely nice over there. The RP stuff isn’t as bad as people make it…I was never even approached to participate.
Honestly…I should transfer this guy over from tich…it’s a ghost town as far as the social aspect is concerned.

I just abandoned my toons on Tich and re-leveled everything as the new Dracthyr race. The best move I could of made.
I’m not much of a RP person either. But as you said nobody is weird about it & you can have friendly conversations with people at all hours.

You can also play Classic WoW to get that old community vibe back, it’s even stronger than on MG imo.

Yeah, the ‘weird’ side of MG is all people who have never actually hung out there want to focus on and it paints a false picture IMO. MG’s an RP server, and yeah it does have that ‘weird’ stuff, but it’s also definitely one of, if not the most social server in NA WoW. Like the OP says, players there actually talk to each other and just hang out. That sort of thing doesn’t really happen on other servers anymore. Everyone’s a robot doing ‘chores’ and immediately cranking the rage dial up to 11 whenever another player ‘gets in their way’ somehow.

We’re happy to have you! We worked hard to make sure that the community remained generally intact from any sharding or phasing that blizzard puts in a bunch of other servers. The great thing about it is you can still find some really awesome content guilds to do everything from high tier mythics, raiding, and even PVP (guilds that won’t be dead upon arrival either, though it still certainly happens). Weirdly enough, a lot of MG players are like you, just trying to find an active community, so we have a good percentage of really amazing refugee players and guilds for content.

Always been on MG myself, and I’ve found that unless you go looking for the weird stuff that people tend to associate with our server, you won’t really run across it.
