Shouldn't the Honor Level reset with expansions?

If you’re not going to have them dating back to 2005, then shouldn’t honor levels reset for each expansion? I was horrified to realize that Legion numbers carried over, nevermind that you could juice the number through PVE.

Honor level doesn’t equate to anything except time spent. Why are you concerned over a time sink that gives no real rewards?

It shouldn’t reset, just like HKs never reset.

if they come up with a new rewards set…sure, if not…no

Because the honor level gains are vastly different between expansions. When there’s a 650 Honor Level in a game with me, I’d love to know if they gained 500 during Legion or 500 in the current expansion.

yes this is a necro, but it’s my thread and rather than create a new one - I did this.

They really really should come up with more time sensitive rewards for honor.

Like honor specific transmog or illusions, tabards, flags, toys. Something to be rewarded for extra in each season or expansion.

This would be separate from current ranking related rewards but right now there isn’t much that people can’t attain in pvp later on other than Gladiator mounts/Tabards, season illusions and Elite gear

That would be cool. Even if it’s just recolors of tabards like the Spirit of Competition.

For the toy, we could have a lot more “Thumbs Down” flags for other emotes. Those seem to be a big hit in BGs.

there is maybe ~2,000 players above 500. nobody got H500 from legion PVE stuff, so far only one guy has ever been confirmed to have had reasonable honor level from legion WQs. this issue is a nothing burger. what you will find though is more H1000+ players are alliance mains because they get double honor compared to horde.

What issue?

exactly.‎‎

ok so then what are you posting about?

what are you posting about?

Good dodge.

I’m posting about the desire to see when people got their honor levels. I can’t begin to imagine how that’s a problem for anyone.

you will always find players who care more about having their name at the top of a list than actually obtaining the quality that list is ranking. if you are looking for a way to judge players, the more you play, the more names you learn, that means the names you know with high honor level are playing often enough for you to remember them, so their honor level is likely legit.

This is clearly the assumption you’re working off of. But it’s not true. I don’t judge people by their honor level (a bot has a good honor level) I just want to see when they were active.

  • Have they played a lot in my xpacs?
  • Are they a veteran of WoW PVP?
  • Are they a new grinder?

I’d also love to see - in addition to the current, homogenized honor level - the levels earned on a specific toon. If you’re looking for something to attack me on, here you go:

  1. I’m salty about my Vanilla PVP’ing not factoring in - like, real salty
  2. I’d like to know if the person screaming about the team being crap has played at all this expansion
  3. I’d like to see if the person leveling via BGs mostly quested then hopped in a game or if they ground their way to 40 in the BGs

They should really start forum banning people who don’t have the brain cells to not necro threads from 3 years previous.

Did you read my justification for the necro?

There is no justification for you to bump a three year old thread. Zero.
