Shouldn't Prophet Velen be the strongest in the world?

He can see the future. That means he can predict and react to every move of his opponent in a fight. So why isn’t he more important?

The Draenei have a tendency to have potential to be awesome but never follow through.
Its to be expected from him.

I think your over valuing his ability to predict the future. From what I can tell he can only tell general things and not things in detail. Like The Legion is coming but doesn’t know when or where.

He is. But the Sylvanas crew cried someone might match her so Blizzard nerfed him.

Velen’s visions aren’t perfect. I don’t think he can totally control when he gets them and he doesn’t always know what they mean either until it actually happens. He could get a vision and it could be something thousands of years in the future. He has to try to interpret it.

Plus his Sight was damaged too back when the Genedar crashed on Draenor. I’m not sure if he recovered or not yet, but after that his Sight came only in fragments and not as fully as before.

It’s probably something like this. He can see possible paths, and possible futures, but what will come to be can only be guessed or hinted at. Do his decisions and choices make a horrible future become reality, or prevent it? Only until people make choices does the future solidify into stone and become true. Until then the future is malleable.

If I remember right, someone asked Blizzard that a long time ago and they said he’s to powerful to be in every story arc. I’ll try and find the interview.

Just like with the Vindicaar not showing up in BfA to fight the Horde. Blizzard said there’s a time and a place for things and they didn’t want to use the Vindicaar for this story.

It’s really bad writing, IMO.

Hes too high on anchor weed to focus right now. Come back in 2 expansions. Liberating your people makes you happy bro.

Insert Velen Relieved Face during the Argus Raid End Cinematic

This highlights the main problem with BfA -

IT MAKES NO SENSE

There is no, absolutely NO reason why the Alliance with their literal immortal space tech. shouldn’t be able to roflstomp the Horde so hard and so fast it’s embarrassing.

And Vindicaar or no, they still bring in said tech. on the regular, and we’re all expected to believe that the Horde with their pointy sticks and body odor is supposed to be a match for it all? …

… In the RTS, when everyone was on a relatively equal playing field, it was fine. Alliance might have had slightly higher tech, but not enough to make WarCraft impossible to take seriously. It was still a legitimate fight you could buy into. Technology and discipline vs. brutality and power.

What it’s since turned into, however…?

This feels like Spock going up against the Caveman from the Geico Commercials. Saurfang and Sylvanas apparently had a conversation wherein they declare the Horde couldn’t hope to beat the Alliance should they decide to wage war, and honestly, that assessment is where BfA should have ended.

There’s a giant titanic sword of pure evil sticking out of the planet - trying to make “and now let’s kill one another!” the focus is bad enough. When it’s done in the face of it making absolutely no damn sense whatsoever…

This expansion was a mistake.

Exactly. He was still worried all the way up to Sargeras being ported away with the wonder demon, and he definitely didn’t see that giant sword going into the planet.

Being able to see the future doesn’t mean you’re smart enough to take advantage of it.

He sees visions at times. But he can’t always interpret them. They’re a puzzle, unclear in what they mean or where/when they might take place.
