Shouldn’t have to pvp for pve

But it’s totally fine that pvp players are required to pve again this season.

Overlap is OK. Making it game breaking not to participate is not OK. Nerfing pvp gear acquisition from pvp sources because it might be attractive to pve players looking for an edge is complete nonsense when pvp players are required to pve to be competitive.

PVPers shouldnt have to do pve content if they dont wanna. We should be able to level at the same speed thru pvp BGs etc and get equal strong gear.

Yes because you guys actually do it.

If you want to be the best, and have the best stuff, you should have to play all aspects of the game.

Yea sure, go tell that to raiders, bet you if you told them they had to get 2k rating in arena or be unable to down a boss to finish a raid they want to finish and they’d take out their pitchforks and be marching on blizzard.

Perhaps if you want to have the best stuff you have to PvE.

But if you want to be the best, you really only need to PvP competitively.

I’ve never seen a 2.2k+ rated PvPer who isn’t incredible at raiding if/when they need to.

The same can not be said for raiders in reverse.

I don’t see why they originally changed the system up in Legion and made it the way it is currently. I just want a Vendor like the old times and just set a max item level on the gear and i’ll be happy. Idc if it was even 400. Just the feeling of maxing out my points for the week and saving/buying a piece made me happy. Then i’d do that on Alts

I just don’t like how if one week i’ll be like “Oh cool I actually need this upgrade” and i work towards it, Then the next week it’s a piece of gear that I got lucky on with a Titanforge, Then to unlock the NEXT gear piece, I have to grind this useless gear piece first. Complete turn off for me, in my books

Agree, overlap is more than ok, it’s great. As long as it requires similar effort, i have no qualms with getting either reward for either content.

The issue is blizzard wants to try to force people from either side to participate in the other to get the best reward. Again optional is nice, forced is not.

Yup, got into core CE groups easily just by being better than their other players lol. You learn your class so much better when you PvP at at least 2.2k.

This season? Dude PvPers have had to PvE since this game has been out. There was ONE season at the end of WoD where we didn’t have to almost at all that I can think of.

I disagree. I like it how it was for vanilla through Wotlk where BGs never gave experience.

This sounds like sarcasm. Perhaps I’m wrong and I apologize if I am.

But raiders have difficulty dealing with adds and moving from mechanics.

PvPers LoS every Chaos Bolt.

There’s really no comparison.

Yes. WoW remains a fundamentally PvE game with optional PvP content. Some PvE is required of everyone. Always was. Always will be.

But the best PvP gear should be available through PvP, including trinkets and essences. Raiders are crying over Benthic gear, but at least that is also a form of PvE.

Because… ?

why wouldn’t it be? would you like your BiS essence locked behind gladiator?

As someone who played vanilla-mop this is the most annoying and flat out wrong argument and people always trot it out in these discussions.

Ever since TBC Blizzard’s design decisions and statements about design intent have made it clear that they intended PvP gear to generally be the best gear for pvp. Resilience, pvp power, etc. says hi.

Obviously in practice, especially in TBC pve gear was often better for many classes for raw power (at least there was a trade off but that’s a different argument) but it was clear that they were working towards a world where most of the time pvp gear was as good or better for pvp than pve gear, with the exception of some trinkets and legendary items.

Again, cross over is OK. Doing more forms of content should be rewarded in some way. Not doing multiple forms of content should not be game breaking, though. Void Stone and the pve proc gear from last season was so game breaking it forced pvp players to pve in order to compete. That is not OK. Instead of learning from that, the new raid has several items that are absolutely bonkers and you’re gimping yourself if you don’t go get them.

In PvP
Mythic raid >= Ranked PvP gear > Heroic raid >= Conquest > Normal Raid >= Honor > LFR
is a good progression that allowed PvE’ers to enter PvP without making PvP players feel obligated to PvE. It’s contigent on 2 things they removed, the PvP vendor and PvP specific stats.
