Thing is originally wow wasn’t intended to really go much past WOTLK. They were working on another MMO to replace it (aka project titan). Ultimately it was scrapped after a decade of development hell and what was left of it turned into Overwatch. So yeah, i wouldn’t expect a “WOW2”, like ever.
Absolutely, I love WoW as a Fantasy game covered in Sci-fi dressing. I don’t know if I’d like an entire expansion set across various planets and such.
I have always kinda thought this was weird and strange. We have guns, teleports, robots, flying ships, motorcycles, yet there is NO running water, and no plumbing. (All outhouses everywhere. (Which, BTW if any of you do not know, you actually get an achievement the first time you enter an outhouse.

But yah, I’d be more than supportive of a sci-fi based expansion. And I agree, they got a lot of the legwork already done if they use concepts from Starcraft.

How about getting 2 moons, 1 for alliance and the other for the horde?
Blizzard was hiring like crazy for a Warcraft-themed (I think?) survival game a year or two ago. That’s the genre that seems to have risen from the ashes of sandbox MMOs.
Well the Dranei would all crash and we wouldn’t be able to play ours so probly a bad idea.
I would like expansion with Restoring and Building things up. Outland it’s falling a part . Why we don’t find a way to save him? Or Argus ?
Silvermoon it’s still in ruins … Exodar too. Teldrassil…
Artifacts weapons looked amazing, the class story lines were really good, the raids were really well made, the dungeons were good, some great transmog, I’d say it leans closer to good than bad.

maybe a semi-abandoned Titan facility with ecospheres full of alien life specimens on one of Azeroth’s moons, like a gigantic version of Uldaur?

I mean DF is just Legion minus artifacts/demons and plus dragonriding/dragons.
It’s a decent xpac but it’s still just a very minimally updated reskin of the last three.
The only spacebound location I think I’d ever care to visit is K’aresh, the Ethereal’s homeworld, though I’m not entirely sure if it’s possible since it was reportedly destroyed by the Void. Though it’s possible they could pull an Outland and go “the planet is gone, but a chunk of it still remains.”
That said, think we need to let Argus and Shadowlands age a bit more before we turn back to cosmic stuff.
We need a Rise of the Murloc’s xpac before an outer space one.

Technology and magic don’t mix well. One precludes the other. Look at Star Wars that has successfully included both, in multiple scenes the “wizard” scoffs at the hubris and limitations of technology. The Warcraft writers have not, and are not, going to get this right.
