Should we have an outer space expansion?

What, didnt you get enough with alien Doll?

I know this was sarcasm, however, you’re still a bad person for suggesting this.

As long as the space goats drop the blood elfs in the wrong expansion

What game you been playing?
Warcraft has been Sci Fi since 2002.
Demons are Aliens.
Titan Keepers are Robots.
Titanic races use to be robots.
Several Races came from other planets.
Most continents have a Titan Superstructure under them, usually full of robots.

I love Chris Metzen, he’s foundational to the universe of World of Warcraft. but that guy is a Sci Fi entusiast through and through.

Id love a Sci-Fi expansion, but I do think we’d need a high tech Tinker class to go with. It just feels weirds to have high tech races and high tech zones and high tech quests… but be stuck with low tech classes like Warrior and Mage.

That’s fair.

Steam punk != to sci fi. The introduction of flying machines and the like in WCII did not make this sci fi. The introduction of a wrecked planet floating through a warped dimension is so fantacy and not sci fi I can’t even…

This is retcon, and part of the shoddy content I spoke to. They were explicitly extra dimensional originally.

Until the retcon of Shadowlands they were a cosmic force. Literal gods. Are you going to try and argue shadowlands retcons are good? Holy crap I hope not!

There is retconning here as well. This was Dwarf lore from WCIII in which they were earthen beings turned flesh mysteriously. Come WOTLK and gnomes were mechagnomes, humans were giants… except they were also stormforged before that. Yeah when it came to that retconning of lore it was more like WTFOTLK, particularly because it took the dwarf lore and like Oprah gave it to everyone. “You’re a titan construct, he’s a titan construct, you’re all titan constructs!”

It was other dimensions, again before retconning. That’s why they used portals instead of space ships. Then they decided to retcon draeni and they still get called “space goat” for it today. Again, a downgrade of the lore.

Yeah we went over WTFOTLK already. Look at the original Uldaman and Ungoro for a pre WOTLK idea of titan structures and artifacts. It was more mystic less mechanical.

So in conclusion:

Just make guest dungeon that involves StarCraft. Have fun in designing it

Thorim, Freya, and the other titan keepers were definetly robots in Wrath of the Lich king, my guy.

“I don’t like the Lore, so it isn’t canon”

Im not going to acknowledge the rest of the post. Yes, there are retcons. they made the game more Sci-fi. because the Creative directors of this game like sci fi. And I like sci fi.
I like space travel, and I like that a bunch of the races are either robots or aliens.
Just because you haven’t liked the story since wrath doesn’t invalidate the last 13 or so years of wow.

Couldn’t disagree more, honestly.
WoW is full of sci fi tropes and better for it, honestly.
Otherwise it would be another boring fantasy game.
Instead it’s a Fantasy game with Sci-fi trimmings. That’s cool and unique.

I’m tired of leaving Azeroth unused and stale while we go off fighting cosmic threats.

If you want a sci-fi game, go play a sci-fi game.

Why not make wow basically Grand Theft Auto while we are at it?

Seems silly to want a game to change its entire theme and identity to copy other games.

Only if the Zerg, and Protoss invade the solar system.

WoW already has lots of sci fi though.
we’ve been to other planets, like multiple times.
We’ve got various flavors of aliens and robots.

WoW’s “Entire theme” already has plenty of sci-fi trappings though.

I’m not saying we need an entire sci-fi expansion. but it wouldn’t be out of theme if we did.

How… And how would you make it non floaty like that water zone everyone hates

Source?

That’s definitely not what I said. Props for actually quoting what I did say later, even if your reading comprehension doesn’t recognize a difference.

Duh? :dracthyr_a1:

Lol. When you fail to defend your idea that’s probably for the best.

Look man, If you want to look at a game with Hardlight holograms, Giant Mecha robots, Spaceships, interplanetary travel, teleporters, laser weapons, and aliens. and say “Nope, this game isn’t sci fi, it’s fantasy” more power to you.

I will disagree.

Legion wasn’t good, it was definitely a upgrade over WoD but it wasn’t “good”.

My dream is a eldritch void based horrorish expansion. Doubt when the void expansion happens it will actually be dark but one can dream.

that would be a good idea for WoW2

WoW2 I would want them to fast forward in time thousands of years and reset the entire factional landscape across Azeroth.

IE: Humans live in Lordaeron and Stormwind is in ruins.

That sort of thing is nice in small doses, but an entire expansion? Probably not great.

It’s kinda like cayenne pepper. I like a little bit on damn near everything, but I’m not interested in eating it all by itself.
