Should there be Delve only consumables for purchase?

Some classes are just kind of crap on higher tiers when soloing. And looking at the current items purchasable with undercoins look lackluster. I think Reno selling consumables you can buy with undercoins would help some of the struggles.

Healing potions only usable in Delves and maybe they don’t share a CD with Algari and a 2 minute cooldown.

Consumable that dispells on a 5/10 minute cooldown.

Consumable that reduces AOE damage taken by 50% for 10 seconds.

Mini pally bubble for 3 seconds with 15 minute CD?
Etc etc

What’re your thoughts on it?

That’d be really cool, kinda like remix where you could get other classes abilities for utility and whatnot (I miss rolling around). I think if properly balanced it would be a fun way to give extra assistance for delves.

Wouldn’t be against it.

I’m not against it but I don’t think this would really close the gap between the ceiling and floor for classes in delves. It might raise the floor a bit but the ceiling is going to go up just as much or more.

I’d say they should only be usable in solo delves though :stuck_out_tongue:

That might also bring some parity as far as soloing and grouping for delves goes.

My fault I read over this part.

As someone who’s played more classic, my initial thought is no.

However - this isn’t classic. They’ve done a lot to make things more balanced across different classes and delves are definitely easier for some classes than others.

Since delves can be done in groups, I don’t think it’s completely necessary, but I would be ok with a few more tools for certain classes to be used in delves. The problem is that if the tools are available to everybody then the classes who already do well in delves will find it even easier.

Good point. But if they’re already clearing pretty easily I don’t think they’d purchase them… but then again the rewards to me at least are kind of lame and they may just buy them anyways. I wouldn’t on this monk but I absolutely would on my outlaw rogue where Delves have felt 10x harder.

Oh if it makes it 10 seconds faster or 1 death easier for them they are definitely going to purchase it.

I think delve-only consumable purchases would be sick, actually. Would help solo-only players a lot.

Absolutely true as well. But then you’d be using undercoins so you are losing the currency if they do ever decide to make it useful.

Honestly im not a fan.
Id rather delves be tuned around not needing to buy a load of junk before heading in.

I think you should be able to completely rid the a delve of it’s problems and then take it over as a base of operations. NOT PLAYER HOUSING. … A Base. Of operations.

Yeah, for all the people “who want a challenge” dont have to buy them.

Not a bad idea. Sure Brann can be set to healer but he loves to toss those potions whenever, wherever he wants to.

I’d say go for it tbh. But like I said earlier, only usable in solo delves.

Groups do not need any help like this.

blizz add an npc healer that toss heals on the ground

procedd to add every ground crap imaginable to the content that this npc is used

/popcorn
-watch players die tryng to grab potions

Fair as well. I look at them as more of ways classes restricted with silences, mobility, self heals or whatever to have a shot if they do make a mistake. Don’t want them busted though.

LOL!

There times I’d love to swap him for Captain Gerrick or Crenna from the Follower dungeons but Gerrick would probably pull more trash with her shield before healing and Crenna would pull more trash before healing cause girl loves to hop around.

On another note I never want to do the Delve where you fly through void mush to remove it on the ground again. I’m just glad I knocked it out for achievement sake but Bran was the worst.

That is fair in both points, however, regarding groups, to my understanding delves were supposed to be the solo option for those who did not want to do group content. Although I am with you in regards of difficulty, I personally appreciate and enjoy it, however, imo more utility options would bring more fun to the challenge overall, especially for classes that do have limited defensive cds or interrupts.

Currently, I am seeing a pattern where classes with pets or high defensive specs are having an easier time than those without, my thoughts with adding additional consumables would be to put the other classes on the same level of access so that they can continue to be solo without having to grossly over gear.

I do not envy the people whose jobs it is to balance this stuff, it is complicated.

IMO if Blizzard wanted to make delves more “fair” regardless of class… the tweaking should be done to the gameplay rather than through consumables. They could tweak it for individual classes or buff Brann for certain classes, that sort of thing.
