Should the Mage Tower return for Legion Timewalking?

It won’t, nor should it. It was announced as time limited before it went live and run with that understanding. If they went back on that now we wouldn’t be able to trust anything they say about content or rewards again.

How about…
No. With a side of…
Give up.
Its Gone.
You missed out. Give up. You’re never getting it.
Just… Don’t beat yourself so up for it. Legit. This entire post is filled with your regrets and those “” people “” you spoke to seem to be the same kind of people with your regrets.
Sorry but that’s it. Poof. They gone.
Yeah bring back the Mage Tower but no rewards. Nothing.

Its gone. Give up.

Your quite a few years behind my dear on that front. We have lost whole raids, the old world and much more over the years and it isn’t coming back.

If they start bring older stuff back what would it achieve, a few weeks of new stuff for people to do and the outrage of everyone who fought and sweat to get all that old content before it was gone.

We have old PvP sets, PvE sets, Glad mounts and enchants, and much more removed from the game most of which everyone know was being removed and we have all accepted that they would be gone and them coming back won’t fix anything and blizz isn’t going to waste their time and money on making sure they are all the same every damn patch and xpax. We have lost abilitys and powers that we no longer have so they would have to rebuild everything from the ground up AGAIN which as i say all the time they won’t do.

These were items to reward people for playing the game at the time and it shows that we were not only there but had the skill to get them and MMO’s remove stuff all the time for events and Seasonal stuff all the time be it sets or items.

So… You want the Tower back right? Just that? So you can kill Kruul and be happy with yourself for killing him? No rewards?
Sounds good.

Hahahahahaha not again, shoo.

Solarstrike…not aviela, not ralph, not vanillanoob, not landore. Something is not right. An illusion?

Also, my answer is as a FDK with hundreds of failed attempts on that tower of insanity:

No it shouldn’t. uwu

Can we get the mage tower back without the artifact appearance rewards? I don’t care about the appearances but I’d like to try it one day to see what all the fuss was about.

yep why not, gives players a chance to grab what they didn’t have time to get.

People had lots of time to get the appearances. It’s their faults for not getting the appearances. You should want new challenges with new rewards and just the Tower itself back with no rewards.

They only started doing that with the WoD collectors edition mounts and even the MoP one originally had a disclaimer that it would probably be back someday uwu. The mage tower appearances were said from the start to be a limited time thing that would not be returning uwu

As someone who completed it on all classes and specs.

I am fine with people having access to it as an option. Under the following conditions:

  1. Challenge is maintained and not trivialized.
  2. Other ‘Timed’ exclusives like PvP sets become available and earnable. Similar to how PvP Saddles can be traded in. Once you hit the correct rating and earned the seasonal armor, you can then work towards older sets.

Why? I am generally against snapshotting content to particular times. I dislike the transient nature that the game pushes, every expansion adding content only to remove it or make it useless later.

This isn’t a player preference item unfortunately. If the developers had left all the Legion code in the game, so that the Legion experience could be offered as it was, that would be great. But those mechanics and context are gone. Anything they try to do will be new development for a limited purpose, and not the same thing.

It would be great if there was more stability around mechanics so long-lived challenges could be implemented, which would be another benefit of moving away from all the expansion specific borrowed power the game has turned to.

Didn’t have the time to get? They had the opportunity to get it the moment it dropped during ToS. There was literally over a year in terms of the window to get it

So you want the devs to revert the game back to Legion to replicate the challenge exactly through TW, then?

And if we’re doing that, which patch are we going with? 7.2 where even with Mythic NH gear, you still needed key legendaries on most specs and full traits to get them done? Or are we going to go with 7.3.5 where you could do the Guardian tank challenge with no legendary equipped at 920 ilev with most traits and just Moonfire/heal your way through phase 1?

After that, what are we going to give the players who actually did it in the allotted timespan? A title? Just a Feat of Strength? A mount, a pet, a new skin? What?

…Oh, right, I think I know most of these answers:

“just tune the boss like it’s current”

“who cares they’re greedy snowflakes”

I’m above and beyond done with this topic. What’s funny is that the players who actively sought out the challenge within the allotted timespan got what they earned, and they’re the ones being called greedy for wanting to retain prestige for it? Newsflash: There’s next to no visible form of prestige in this 15-year old MMORPG. God forbid that anyone who actually adheres to a timeframe is allowed some semblance of a reward for their effort.

An item that allows you to simply change which appearances you have unlocked effectively just puts a CD on displaying one. Even if it were limited, it’d still be nothing more than an unnecessary fix for a vocal minority that didn’t continue playing the classes they did in Legion.

Even more than that, the base skin alone is just as valuable as the rest. Allowing people to re-acquire them would render the base skin just another item in an endless sea of cosmetic skins.

Sorry you didn’t try or weren’t playing, just be ready for the next one.

I really need to stop seeing these “suggestions”.

let ppl words towards them again. there is no harm.

I am in this camp, and would vote a solid “no”. I was there, tried a few of the specs there few times, but I’m not really good with juggling encounters like that (*). It was advertised as a limited window of opportunity, and thus it should remain for all-time.

(*) - I was, however, able to complete the warlock green fire thing back in MoP, which my charmingly mediocre self is proud of.

Nah. If you missed the limited time event, you missed it. (And that’s coming from someone with 2 guardian druids who doesn’t have werebear)

No it is special because you had to get it during a limited period.
