Should the forums be moderated by the community?

it seems like you just want to argue in which case

hope your name happens to you

life would be so much better without blizzards forums

Also I wouldn’t trust this community to run a bath, much less a forum

I am offended by your remarks. Are you threatening me? That is totally not a woke thing to do. Why would you wish harm upon others?

Based on the behavior of a bunch of people these past few weeks on both sides of the table I am in favor or more mods.

Every time someone misuses that term, God kills a bus full of orphaned puppies.

TIL, there are not orphaned puppies left.

I absolutely think the flagging system is ridiculous, and completely lazy because they don’t have the staffing to properly moderate the forums.

The community should not be doing the work for the moderators. There needs to be moderators that do their job properly.

Have you met the community?

The mods/GMs are far left, so…

Well it sure doesn’t feel like anyone else is moderating them lately…

Includes the freedom to downvote, which on these forums is accomplished by flagging, as lame as that may be.

Freedom goes both ways, not just yours. The guy that doesn’t want anything but “mainstream narratives” has as much right to that, as you do to “freedom of speech” and “opposing viewpoints”.

You let the community self-police these entire forums, then you’re going to have to deal with the guy exactly opposite you that has as much right and “freedom” as you do to what you want.

“Freedom of speech”, by the way, isn’t guaranteed unilaterally everywhere here in America, despite 'Murican belief that it is. Congress cannot make laws abridging the freedom of speech. That is all. Private entities may do as they see fit, including limiting speech to whatever they see fit on their private platform.

if the community is a lvl 3 or a new rank lvl 4 with no vacations within lets say 2-5 years of creating an account? then this would be a good idea

Put me in, coach!

Actually funnily enough, I’ve now been here long enough to know that the mods have actually scaled back their moderation of GD. Outside of the CS forum, the mods are taking a much more hands off approach.

I’d love ot of the community was given reign to moderate things OP.

I have always felt like one of blizz’s biggest failings was turning into a woke helicopter parent. Their playerbase is made up almost entirely of adult pc gamers, who don’t want or need to be forcefed ethics from their derelict PR department.

That’s always been the case…but in light of their recent whoops #metoo crap, yeah, they should back off and just let the adults talk to each other, unfettered.

Private venues have the right to enforce their own rules of behavior. That’s why we have this concept of … “private property”.

Are you some sort of Commie?

They already are. I made a light hearted and well constructed post about having to smash my roomate spider Robert and was banished to the shadow realm for it.

People are way too quick with the flag post button nowadays. Of course it doesn’t help when important features like ignore user are needlessly locked behind post count and trust level.

Is this a question?

Take a look at how many forum threads have been flagged lately just because the community didn’t agree with what someone was saying.

It’s hilarious to me how people use the phrase “freedom of speech” and then turn around to silence other people.

That’s a hard no on community-moderated forums for me, unless we want the forums to go to crap faster than it already has.

The moderation decisions are certainly less than uniform.
