It does seem to be in the game file tho is wow head is using the alpha client they a few new items as well so no one really would know.

There’s a lot of things in the game files. However, I don’t think they’ll let it drop since it was never meant to be.

There are unobtainable items that dropped off of the dungeon 0.5 set quest bosses which are still listed in the transmog tab as “world drop” on retail so I wouldn’t put much faith in blizzard to update their system, and if they do I would question its legitimacy regardless considering what I said.

It should drop exactly once.

Though I’m guessing it’ll not drop at all.

They should let 1 person get it and then remove it from the loot tables.

They should leave it removed and avoid the drama. That “only once” stuff is so annoying to hear.

When did it drop originally does anyone know? Was it the first MC clear ever or just a random one.

Also it should be noted… this and the green mechano strider truly are the only real legendary items in world of Warcraft.

Yeah agreed it should drop once.

And only in the region it originally dropped whatever that was.
Probably one of the north american regions.

It was a drop off baron geddon originally. Only 1 person ever got it before it was removed from the loot table. Not sure which run it was that it happened.

I know the story and the guild and the warrior I just didn’t know when the drop occurred, I know it was before they redid MC… so considering the game is going to be 1.12 I doubt they’d include it.

My understanding is that this was never intended to be a drop. However a mistake happened and one player got it. They removed it from the drop tables right away, and let him keep the item.

23rd of march, 2005 is when wowwiki says it dropped.
So that would put it as a potential drop for about 4 months.

It would be fun of them to have it drop 1 time only, across all realms as a nod to Vanilla.

Then again there’s not a large amount of fun like that going on at Blizzard these days and they’re probably afraid of getting drowned in tears from entitled crybabies over it.
