Leveling is so trivial nowadays. You are basically two shotting mobs up until 50, only then do you actually have to use more of your kit. By the time new players are max level most don’t even know what all of their abilities because they never had to use them. Starting keys on my alt I had a mage who didn’t know about Time Warp, Warlocks who didn’t know they could make a soul well, many classes who don’t know they have an interrupt, list goes on. Leveling needs to have instances where it is almost mandatory to use all of your abilities
No. They tried it a while back. Took like an hour per level. It was dreadful. All it did was make me stop leveling alts.
Leveling is the WORST part of WoW, and the faster we can do it to get to the true “end game” and fun, the better
Want slow? Go play Classic. Leave retail alone
No.
once they flipped the “only have to level through one expansion to get to the latest expansion content” switch it’d be kind of lame to unflip it.
Didn’t say slower. Said more difficult
Same thing. No. Back in vanilla it was a large part of the game. This is no longer the case. So, no it shouldn’t be more difficult aka take longer.
And thank god for that.
Take off the heirlooms and only use the gear you get and you will need 3 or 4 shots per mob, and rares are a challenge.
I think, if anything, they should make separate endgame servers where leveling doesn’t exist. Any new character created starts at max level and full normal dungeon gear. We’ve already done it 9 times, been there done that got the g shirt. A g shirt is a t shirt for gnomes.
More difficult is in turn slower. I just wanna plow thru and zip zip
Heirlooms are no better than quest gear now.
That would require Blizz to stop making the game only start at max level. They would have to make it about the journey and not the destination anymore which I don’t see happening.
They have far better stats because the ilvl updates every level.
I had a couple of pieces under 10 when the heirlooms were in the 50s.
Im levelling with my son so am avoiding set bonuses. The heirlooms are significantly better. And the damage done is significantly more.
As I said above, it makes killing rares much easier.
This is only really because you are leveling so fast that you only need to do 2 quests per level.
Anything you get from a quest for dungeon will be as good as the heirloom you have on at the same level. But like you said heirlooms scale every level and drops do not. You can gain 2 levels during a single dungeon nowadays.
1-60 should be ramping in challenge and expectation from the player.
It should be tuned properly as well.
It should be able to be enjoyed just as much as it was when it was current if the player chooses to do so.
There should be some opt out for folks who have done it once already. They don’t want to do it all over again, and players that want to enjoy the content don’t want them there.
No.
Next question!
Yes
Same question
I haven’t played in a couple years and I’m like 25 after a couple hours. I wanted a fresh start with a new character. I prefer blasting my way to max in a day or 2 rather than in weeks. The game starts at max level, always has.
The only thing I’d like to see changed (but will never happen) is account wide achievements because of nostalgic reasons.
Leveling is an antique system that needs to change. The way they have outrageous renown levels that is enough of an obstacle plus the low loot drop rates.
kind of agree wish we all started with no level just make reps the way to go quests and gear take ya. Make talents unlock in dungeons or certain parts of the game. Want to learn to shield block go to stormwind and get training etc. Probably would take lots of restructuring though. But all the renowned and rep systems kind of work that way anyway.
