Should I quit the game now?

So I played original vanilla and TBC and loved those days as a teen. I played the game single player as I’m not very social outside of just 5man groups and didn’t have too much time with school and part time job to even consider raiding.

I came back around 2020 to relive the classic days when Blizz released classic but found myself doing the same thing…leveling a ton of alts and not raiding or joining a guild lol, that continued in TBC but I really enjoyed leveling a lot and by the time I was considering raiding the next expansion was coming out (tbc, then again with wrath).

I FINALLY came back to classic era in late December with the intention to just level ONE character and finally experience the raids in classic and FINALLY be able to wear some tier class sets that I’ve always seen others wear in the cities. Fast forward to today, I’ve raided all classic raids multiple times besides Naxx. I also have three raid toons since my first pick was a warlock but after BWL I wasn’t enjoying the class so I switched to a mage who is pretty much geared up to AQ40 besides 2-3 pieces that would be small improvements. I’ve also leveled a paladin to try experience healing too but the mage was my main focus.

However I already feel like I’ve been playing this game too much, I keep putting personal goals and my health to the back burner. Even though my goal in classic era was to experience ALL the raids and I only have one left…should I just quit at this point or do you think I’ll regret not experiencing Naxx raid and should just try to hold on a little longer to get into that raid? Or since most of the playerbase didn’t do naxx since you need consumes, gear, time commitment, buffs, should I feel content at this point and just move on from the game now? Just looking for opinions as I don’t really have any friends or family I can talk to about this lol.

I was considering going back to wrath after experiencing all the classic era raids. I only experienced wrath for the first time last year but it just felt too much like retail (I did play WoD and Legion in the past) and really only wanted to experience some of the raids I missed in classic and tbc that were my favorite versions of wow. So I think at this point I would just be closing the World of Warcraft chapter in my life for good this time…

That’s normal :expressionless:

If this doesn’t answer your question I don’t know what would convince you.
Certainly not anything we here could say.

Your life and health are much more important.

I dont play the game enough.

I can’t agree more.

Although Naxx is a fun experience, you can’t pew pew if you’re dead. You’re also no good for yourself or anyone else, including your gamemates, if you’re not taking care of yourself. Eventually, your body WILL force you to take care of it by making you debilitatingly sick if you ignore its needs too long.

Please take care of yourself. :black_heart:

Make the IRL things your top priority and if there is time left over for WoW then great.

It’s a really good game but it’s just a game

Only you know what is best for you.

Thing is tho, if you cant control yourself in terms of play and want to do non-wow things, put the game down a while (tell your in game friends you are going for RL reasons) and do the RL stuff you want to do… Attack the RL like you did leveling, gearing and raiding. Make RL into the game and focus on that.

If you find yourself itching to play wow again and are not really wanting to commit to a raid team then you can do like days of old and make alts.

Like Asma and a few others said, this line shows that you should take a break.

You can almost definitely come back later for Naxx. I’d say maybe schedule some time in to just do Naxx but based on what you said I’d probably suggest taking a break.

I’m taking a break right now. I played A LOT in 2019 - early 2021. Looking back, I love this version of the game, but I got into it harder than I otherwise would have. That was because I was going through something that was really bad and unexpected (health-related) and I needed a coping mechanism. Plus covid keeping everyone indoors. You probably have your reasons for why you got so into the game now, but either way, your post pretty much says you need a break from at least this game. It’s worth it.

Quitting WoW is always the right decision
