Play the character you wanna play and however you wanna play, you don’t have to follow any rules.
As a feral druid from Classic>Som; Feral Druids are the ideal class for those who don’t mind being flexible and are able to fill tank/dps gaps that present themselves through dungeons/raids.
If you just want to tank play warrior, if you just want to play dps go rogue, mage, etc. but if you want to flex and fill gaps needed to finish content go Feral druid.

If you’re not doing a melee only boomkin run you aren’t really a hardcore Druid. Hand of rag no death Druid run or
