Ok should I level up a character from 1 to 120 or wait for pre patch to level up one from 1 to 50?
I heard it is easier to level up characters in pre patch. I know about the leveling buff 100% more experience is it worth it though?
I’ve been doing it, more so I can just have these characters ready for SL when it launches
Wait for prepatch unless it is a DK/DH. For those, make one now, and then wait for prepatch.

you got a point. i do have a DH that is level 100. i have 120 dk so i wouldn’t worry about that.
I made a DK for prepatch and somehow leveled it to 120 without really trying…
I mainly just did some Zangermarsh between Dungeons, hit up Hyjal, than did Invasions/Treasures and just afk leveled with Legion Invasions.
110-120 I mainly did BGs after getting 3 Azerite Armor slots filled.
don’t get me wrong i like questing i just hate grinding.
It took me about 20 hours to level 20-105 as a DPS doing dungeon spam, maybe 2 hours less for AFK and what not, but I’ve seen people say that leveling 1-50 in shadowlands takes less than 14 hours. Someone reached level cap in 7 hours or something.
I personally do not have it in me to level another character to 120.
But iirc the first part of prepatch will not contain the catch up event anyway so just wait imo.
It depends, for me I personally would rather go from 50-60 for any alts I would want to play immediately when SL’s comes out. Although I don’t know if they exactly fixed the amount of time it takes to actually get to 60. Compared to leveling from 1-120 which really slows down when you hit level 80.
Personally all my alts and potential new main are all at 120 sitting in a city gaining the rested buff currently. Least I think you can get it when your maxed, if not I’ll still have them parked for when SL’s comes out. Its whatever you care to do though, if you don’t mind waiting a bit to jump into everything on your alt then go for leveling from 1-60. If you do mind then I would go ahead and level from 1-120 so you only have to grind 10 levels when SL’s comes out.
Leveling will be faster after prepatch. But you won’t have heirlooms and the 100% xp buff currently running. Also currently 90-110 is a joke with treasures and invasions.
Also, u may want to play the new content then.

what’s afk leveling?
Start alts but don’t invest in them like you normally would. Everything could change for you when prepatch happens, and definitely when SL finally arrives.
HOWEVER, spend your time doing things that make you happy. So, if you’re thinking of a new character, just make it and start leveling up. It will feel very satisfying and it’s a great way to spend time before prepatch and SL.

Just make sure you create any DHs and DKs you want before prepatch. Otherwise you start at a lower level.

i still have character boosting to 120 I haven’t used it.
I started this hunter a few days ago. Having a blast. Mostly doing battlegrounds and quests in between.
I already have a 120 ready for prepatch and SL. My alts are just alts. I’m pretty casual though.
If you have characters at L90+ (ie can access Draenor then Legion) then I’d level them up now because it takes just a few hours with all the WQs and Bonus Events in those two expansions. Anything else just wait for SL.
Like when I went to get food or something and left my character sitting somewhere, so take like 2 hours off my total time to level.
