Should I just not play WoW?

I don’t play M+ or Raids because I am not very good.

In other games, I can get good gear as a “casual”, which allows me to make up for mistakes and bad play. So in those games I can actually get into higher dungeons and raids. My good gear makes up for my bad playing and I am not a handicap to my group.

In wow, however, good gear is only for good players. I have no method of getting good gear to make up for my bad playing. So I can’t do M+ or raiding because I will always be a handicap.

In order to get good gear, I need to be good, but I can’t be good unless I get good gear.

Kind of like “experience required”, but how do I get experience without experience?

So I wow just not for people like me?

What is you reason why you need the best gear from mythic + & mythic raids ? There are numerous world quests, that give decent gear, and everytime time walking comes, and you complete 5 of those instances, then you get a real nice piece of raid gear. Also, Zereth mortis has upgraded gear from just questing. Methinks that you think that it’s owed to all to each have the same gear.

As far as not being good, then the more you play, the better that you become. Even Rome wasn’t built in a day, just saying.

It’s your game and your 15 bucks. Do what you enjoy. If you aren’t the competitive sort, you can enjoy playing with your 10 year old son, traveling through the world, collecting transmogs, just basically playing. Go through Legion class halls. Read some lore. Enjoy questing.

Most people agree those are fun.

But if you’ve already conquered those and want more, you do usually get herded in the direction of zerging rares, measure your ilevel, running dungeons (and it’s not a great experience if you’re not competitive by nature now), because this is what passes for new content. Lots of people like it.

If you can’t find anything you do want, and you do not need to listen to anyone here … don’t. Quit. Do not look back. I quit for 15 years, poked my head back in.

It is trivial to just move on and never look back.

Depends. Do you have fun doing what you’re doing right now?

You don’t necessarily need good gear to be good. You won’t pump as high as those with better gear, but mechanics can be studied and so can your rotation. You can start off by coming to a basic understanding on how to play your class by reading one of the many guides available, watching videos of good players doing the content that you want to do and seeing what they do that make them successful, and practicing on a dummy to get muscle memory down.

You can do a +2-8 key every week and get a free carry from valor farmers, and then get a guaranteed good piece in the vault weekly. If that helps!

I too don’t raid or do mythics or many 5 mans at all.

The gear available via world questing, etc is more than suitable for my needs.

What exactly are you trying to do that requires gear from content you can’t or won’t do?

I don’t play M+ or raid anymore because I find it borang and did it for many years. Over it.

With time and chill ppl to learn with anyone can do them, imo. Gotta find your peeps. Also, I had a friend lol who sold keys and many ppl buy and some get carried by friends till they learn. Things aren’t always what they appear.

Look for groups that say chill/learning - wording like that.

The thing about being human is if you look at the mistakes you make, You can learn from them and correct them, Nothing stops an individual from being ‘good’ but themselves.

don’t take it to heart too much, Spending a little time on yourself can make a massive improvement and then you can go from there.

We weren’t just ‘Instantly’ good when we started, Many of us went through a lot of Trial and error to get here.

Also, we all make mistakes. Even ppl doing higher content. It’s crazy but I think it’s called being a human.

I feel like you don’t really want advice you’re just trying to start a discussion and/or argument.

Discussion good.
Arguments bad.

However everyone gave you good advice. it’s your money you gotta do what you want

Same.

I like that!

Stop grouping. Grouping is the problem.

Depends on what gear you consider “good.”

Good. Don’t do that crap.

Throw that whole line of thinking directly into the trash.

You need to learn how to enjoy yourself solo. Do archaeology, level alts, level professions, farm rep, do transmog runs, fish, get the underlight angler, explore, kill rares, collect battle pets, earn mounts.

This is a great solo game. It’s terrible if you are trying to be social, so stop it.

Oh, also remember, you’re at the dead edge of Shadowlands. When Dragonflight returns, everyone will have to level again, they will have no choice but to get back in the same dungeons and be undergeared. For a little while.

Maybe take the time to find a community and figure out what you think is worth doing until then.

If you consider yourself playing badly, gear will not make you play well. Here’s a simple way to get better gear.

  • Run a mythic 0
  • Get a +2 key
  • Post +2 key in GF and valor farmers will be all over it.
  • You will get a new key +3-5, but you can drop it back down to a +2 if you like.
  • Rinse and repeat.

Isn’t there a discord for solely chill keys??

I mean, I’m enjoying Everquest 2 more than WoW.

Best $15.00 a month I’ve ever spent.

They have a housing system at least.

Ive not done a single dungeon, raid, or any pvp.

My item level is 255

You can get gear. Its fine.

However, you shouldnt be playing content youre no good at in hopes that your gear can carry you.

Start low, learn the content, improve.

I want housing so bad.

A log cabin in the forest.

Wish there was another game where you can be an elf and a bear.

Not sure what your point is. The thread originator asked a question. My response has nothing to do with you. If you don’t want to do anything then why are you here except to troll post.
