i’d rather cry on forum than cry in game because people pull stuff and blame healer. I’ve had enough of that on leveling.
Sadly if your a DPS shadow priest no, you’ll be a joke even till phase 4. I’m glad retail fixed this and made it so shadow priest couldn’t heal much and actually focused on DPS.
youll need it for running down inferior classes in BGs (see: every other class)

how i’m supposed to compete in pvp with my pathetic blue items against epic raiders though
playing the wrong class if raid dps is what you care about. if you care about the things shadow is good at then go for it

The question I’d have for your shadow priest: Is it fun to play? If so… buy it!
Besides, shadow priests wreck things in PvP. Having an epic mount in PvP is totally worth it.

that can be a real challenge for some specs. your options are raid as a healer and get geared like that, or get pvp gear if you cant find a group that will take shadow

That’s what makes classic great to me.
On a fresh 60 Hunter I could kite a T1, T2 or T w/e geared Warrior into oblivion.
that works for some situations but at some point being under geared is going to hurt them though. especially if BGs are what they really care about

Swap to healing, then buy epic mount.
If you didn’t know hybrids had zero respect in Vanilla… well now you do.
By healing in raid to get those epic items you need. Then going shadow for pvp in between tiers.

retail level 11 troll mage does not make you a shadow priest.
Seriously I don’t have a classic character above 24. I’ve got one of each class except Shaman and never will have one. I found that I’m enjoying Ret a lot even if it is a meme spec so I’m coming to terms with the fact that my “fun” character is probably just gotta get memed and booted.
I love when people take a classes PvP spec and cry that it does not work in raids…
attention everyone: classic was made at a time when having a PvP spec was a thing…the “hybrid” classes all have a dps spec… it is the only spec they have that gives them damage potential… but not as much as a pure dps… why? because in pvp, if you have the ability to heal and put out the same dps as the pure classes… then they will have no chance in PvP. So it gives them dps, but not enough to raid… enough to be effective in PvP.
The game is 15 years old… did you really think you were going to invent a new way for s.priest to be effective in raids?
you will have a lot more fun in classic if you accept what a class/spec is instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
you picked the wrong class for classic then. its really hard to be pure shadow and actually get any gear
