I’m maining a disc priest in tbc. Through the years I’ve found I love healing in pvp and pve. I have a 47 rogue (My first WoW favorite class) im leveling as a pvp toy. With the boost im caught between a mage or a warrior.
I’d like to have a warrior to tank dungeons because I’ve never played as tank before. I think it would be fun to tank dungeons, kara and have all the opportunities tanks have to set up gdkps, raid pugs and get a dungeon going any time you want.
As a mage, I could farm lots of gold from old dungeons, boost people for gold (I’ve had a tough time getting gold as a priest) and have fun in pvp as well. However, dps slots fill fast.
I’ve never tanked before so I think it would be a fun experience, but the gold farming of a mage seems so lucrative.
All seriousness though I’d go warrior. Harder to solo level in earlier content stuff, watch a guide or two on tanking and pick it up after dpsing a few ramps runs and watching how other tanks handle certain situations.
Then once you’re like lvl 61-62 start tanking ramps first as it will be a lot easier due to level difference and use the experience to build your confidence up as you start tanking better instances.
Mages are a much easier and faster class to level up, you should be able to take advantage of this to bring one up if you decide so later on.
Thank you for the thoughtful answer. What it really boils down to is either: do I want to have fun doing mage pvp stuff and make GOLD or have a new experience and do anything pve elated when I want. I’d like to make a lot of gold but I’m wondering if there’s a consistent reliable way to do that on a warrior as well.
